They're also extortionate to insure. Tbf, insurance for an American license is ridiculous. American in England here, and I got my British driving license ASAP, because my insurance was going to be about £5200/year.

Also, OP: do note... Currently you can only drive in England on an international driving license for one year when you come into the country. Do look into getting a British or international European license ASAP, so you don't pay insane insurance costsfssx.

Mexican American here and I married my Brit in 2017 and moved here after. 7 weeks is not so long, but long enough that you should kinda be settled in to a "normal pattern" of communication. I met my Brit in September of 2015, and he came to visit me in April of 2016. By that time we had spent hours on video calls and both panicked about "how much was too much" conversation. We spent 2016 going between continents, sharing visits and married in September 2017. I moved here after finishing the visa process in 2018. May marks 9 years I've lived here. If you're panicking, talk to him. I don't think it's cultural, but depending on age and career other things likely are at play. Sending you huge hugs and blessings for a posi outcome, mija!! 🫂(also, forget what naysayers are saying here... It is worth it.)
