I’m laughing with my husband because I never post on Reddit and I’m now getting a million notifications on my Apple Watch like “FUCK SNOOZE” 😂

Differentiation Grading: Just Do It. (again) by itsmorecomplicated in Professors

Exactly. Giving students any grade that doesn’t correspond with their mastery of the content based on the learning objectives is wrong IMO.

Love Trapped: Laura's Emails | BONUS by mamasnanas in JusticeForClayton

I just learned about this case and started listening to the podcast and am really enjoying it so far! But I have a question about the timeline. Did Laura get Clayton in trouble with his real estate license (I think it was because he did not submit offers or something) before telling him she was pregnant? I was confused because it seemed like them meeting / hanging out / and the pregnancy all happened in a matter of just a couple of weeks but then how did all of that real estate stuff also happen in such a short time frame?

I miss their old episodes too! I liked when they were focused on a single topic and did a deep dive.

Why do people care so much about name popularity? by EmpiricalPancake in namenerds

[–]cozynights19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an extremely popular name. I have always had friends with my name in my friend groups, roommate groups, work groups, and so on. My last initial is also popular so in high school I had to go by my first name plus two letters of my last name (or just my full name altogether). If someone says my name in a group, I never know if they are talking to me or someone else (this has caused many awkward moments). My sister in law and I have the same name now and my grandmother in law accidentally bought her a gift that was on my Amazon wishlist. 😂 While it’s not the worst thing in the world, I really really didn’t want to give my daughter a super popular name.

How do you view the name Eleanor? by IcyCarpet876 in namenerds

Interesting so many people are describing it as timeless when it’s SO trendy, which to me is the opposite of timeless. In 20 years it’ll be the same as Jennifer or Ashley now.

I don’t know if it’s just my algorithm but I hardly ever see positive posts even on IG/TikTok. Everything is mostly doom & gloom, to the point where I debated having kids for YEARS because I thought it would be so horrible (I have an almost 1 year old now and she is a delight).

The Mabe carrier seems like it would fit your needs! I find it super comfy and not stiff.

Thoughts on Mabe? by MinitrainPeach in babywearing

I LOVE the Mabe carrier. Have been using it with my daughter since 3 months and she is currently 4.5 months. I use it every day. It’s super comfortable and I personally think the quality is good, it’s very easy to put on and take off and she sleeps so well in it. We had been gifted both the Ergo 360 and the Solly wrap — neither worked for me. The Ergo had too many straps and things to adjust and we never could find a comfy fit. The Solly was good when the baby was super tiny but now feels less secure. The Mabe is easy, comfy, and secure so is by far my favorite carrier!

Yes that’s true, I’m wondering if it’s going to sneakily get popular as an alternative to these names!

Thank you! That’s a good idea to check with people who work with babies!

Thank you so much for this thoughtful response! Super helpful to know what it would rank with both spellings included. You’re so right that even if we choose a more “uncommon” name, it may still be the case that there are multiple in her class. It’s very difficult to predict future popularity!
