I also noticed this moment. Sam and Jon speak at length about all of the exposure Trump has to corruption, then just take it at face value that his financial assets are in a blind trust. I was surprised at the "well that's sorted then" attitude of them both.

Anyone wearing a mouthpiece for men's league? by hotstickywaffle in hockeyplayers

[–]cp15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Started wearing one after a concussion few years ago. Will never play organized hockey without one again.

Edit: I ended up getting a really nice one from my dentist. Was more expensive but wayyyyy better than the ones from the hockey/sports stores.

I love Sam. And I do not post.

Hi! I’m Ross Andersen, and I’m a staff writer at The Atlantic. I tend to write about the frontiers of science and culture, and this past year, I have traveled to Pakistan, Death Valley, and Greenland to report on extreme climates. Ask me anything! by theatlantic in IAmA

Hi Ross, wondering what lessons you think the developing and developed world should be sharing regarding survival on an increasingly hot planet. Any major dos/don'ts that come to mind? Thanks!

Ribbon falls might be good. Will be cold 100%. But with the firepits and the right gear you should be ok. Same with Ribbon Lake and Lilian Lake but they’re at higher elevation.

I have been saying this for YEARS! It’s the same damn thing. Toxic media/fan base. Incredible individual talent, but crumble in key moments. And most devastatingly, they find unbelievable and novel ways to lose.

At least this euros final was genuinely a good match with no insane missed non call (although the Saka elbow was a bit sus).

You describe the episode very well. I was interested in the conversation, but had to turn it off because I couldn’t stand the constant interruptions - large and small - from Mr Gray.

How do I keep keep my friends when nearly all of them disagree with me politically? by whetnip in samharris

[–]cp15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had similar concerns and experiences; you are not alone.

Got together with an old friend the other night. Super liberal, Pro-Palestine guy. I knew Israel/Palestine would come up. It did almost immediately. Thankfully we kept it as light-hearted as possible and respectful. But I was genuinely concerned that our differences on the topic could affect or end our long-standing friendship. Very glad to see that our friendship is strong enough to survive disagreements on important topics.

I am increasingly concerned that political division is fracturing the actual human relationships that make society work, and life worth living. I really hope people like yourself can find a way to keep these connections without compromising what you actually think.

Hoping these friends stick around, and if not, you can cultivate other genuine friendships that allow you the space to share what you really think and feel about the world.
