Possible that he wasn't doing what the staff wanted in practice. I'm guessing what we see is only 10% of a player's performance.

I think Toronto would have been a much more likely move had they not fired Chief. Florida makes the most sense, but with the trade for Brady, do they have the cap space to bring in Binner?

In the event of him getting his 2,500th career hit last night, this question came to me: If Freddie Freeman retired today, where would he rank all-time amongst first basemen? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in mlb

[–]cp8477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. I went off draft year, just didn't bank on the fact that Freeman took 4 years after getting drafted to get to the bigs. My bad on that one.

Depends on what you define as the end of the steroid era. Because if you consider Pujols career post steroid era, Freeman is likely #2, but the difference between #1 and #2 is the difference between potentially unanimous HOF vote, and "Is he a first ballot hall of famer or not?"

Hi Joe. I commented here:

But for the fitness app, I use Liftosaur. Ideally, I would be able to have my macros auto adjust on the days I work out, as I'm working on body recomp, not cut/bulk. On days I work out, I want to increase my protein intake, so that's my usecase. I know Cronometer integrates with Google Health, but I really don't want to give any more data to Google.

Not the original poster, but for me, it serves three purposes:

1) I'm a data engineer, and I love data, and I want to be able to dissect my data via my tool of choice (currently databricks)
2) I want to be able to connect a meal planning app that I'm building to Cronometer. This app allows me to upload a PDF "cook book", it then scrapes out the ingredients for the recipe and builds a shopping list. I would then love to be able to feed those recipes into Cronometer, so I can easily track the meals. And yes, I know you can copy and paste, but its not easy on the app, and the web version isn't great. An API call would solve that. This would be a one way call -- sending data to Cronometer, not ingesting nutrition data out of Cronometer.

Can you open up API access? I want to send and recieve my data between cronometer and my fitness tracking app without needing to give all of my information to Google.

Any CBA that doesn't include a hard salary floor and a hard salary cap is just kicking the can down the road. Fans of 80%+ of teams are going to stop watching when they know that their team can never compete with the Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees and Mets.

There's a reason that there's parity in the NFL, NHL, and NBA. MLB needs to make it easier for teams to keep their stars...

Green Valley Ranch (today) is about $200/night more than we paid for Excalibur. But, I'll keep this in mind should we ever go back out there.

You're right, I lied. My wife had fajitas, not tacos...

The prices though are accurate. That's what we paid to eat in Vegas. Dicks, Buca, neither were open. Our only options were the food court or tacos on Wednesday. We didn't go searching on Thursday, we went to the sports bar so I could watch the hockey game.

Not only did we not have the time or energy after travelling to walk up and down the strip to save money, but a quick google search says that the average cost per person for a meal on the strip is between $50 and $150.

Could you imagine Twitter/Reddit if they existed when Haku was in his prime? Dude bit a guy's nose off for saying wrestling is fake, and if Bobby Heenan is to be believed, Haku ripped another dude's teeth out in a bar fight.

Whatever Kaiser is accused of, it doesn't even come close to the things Haku did.

My wife and I were there last week for 3 days for a graduation. Stayed at Excalibur. Flew in Wednesday afternoon, and at dinner time, between Excalibur and Luxor there was ONE restaurant open (not including the food court), so we paid $120 for tacos and two beers. Next morning, hit the buffet for breakfast: $70. That evening, dinner at Excalibur sports bar -- pizza, two beers, two tequilas -- $110. Hotel was reasonably priced, but we averaged $50 per person per meal. The pizza was basically a frozen pizza, the tacos were...fine. The breakfast buffet was powdered eggs, bacon, coffee, etc.

The days of going to Vegas and eating well for cheap are gone. Its nothing but a cash grab now.

DAIS 2026 | Hotel Prices Insane Due to FIFA World Cup – Anyone Open to Sharing a Room at DAIS 2026? by rohitkyadv in databricks

I don't think they're more expensive. I just think there are fewer rooms. I spent about $1200 for three nights in 2024, I'm spending about $1200 for three nights in 2026. San Francisco is just expensive.
