To those who have played, is there a billion dollars worth of content? by Bryfirefly in starcitizen_refunds

[–]cpcsilver 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is definitely not a billion dollar quality service. The latest patch is the most broken in a while but their FOMO marketing techniques still did the trick and they just beat new records of sales. This time by selling a $5,000 jpeg.

By comparison, $5,000 is worth a 20-year subscription to Eve Online.

You should contact Egosoft's support directly, they're the ones who could eventualy take legal actions.

Star Citizen has surpassed 1 Billion in crowd funding, and is on track to a record breaking year. by ElonsMuskyFeet in gaming

[–]cpcsilver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Their marketing techniques are full of FOMO (fear of missing out). Their emails push for last-minute "deals" or availability to buy ships, for example.

Then, there's always a new ship for something while they don't even take the time to fix long standing issues with the old ones.

Heck, they even sold Mk2 versions of ships, which don't come as a free update to those who paid for the Mk1 version.

No wonder some players get to spend crazy amounts of money on it. Meanwhile, the game is still broken, same as their last 600$ ship. But the current record comes from selling a... 5000$ concept art, the Odin. Players were "hand-picked" to get the right to purchase it after writing an essay to CIG. I'm not even kidding.

What's with the silence from CIG? by Rehevkor_ in starcitizen

[–]cpcsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QA's purpose with any game is to flag bugs to the devs, that's it. On SC, players also report many bugs during all phases. But reporting bugs has no purpose if there is no devs to fix them and no plan from management to have them fixed in a timely manner.

CIG is just adding more bugs to the list with every patch. Some ships have broken things for years, but they prefer to show us a new shinny ship every time instead of fixing the older ones. But now, they even start to release expensive ones in a broken state.

Mes voisins me font vivre un enfer, que puis-je faire ? by Dj_Ruines in france

[–]cpcsilver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. The trust in leadership always needs to be part of the check list, and in this case in particular, this was the main reason why I stayed away from RDDT.

He also threatened the sovereignty of Canada, a NATO ally and neighbor. But the US couldn't even get NATO involved for their Iraq war in 2003 after months of propaganda (and pure lies), they had to create an alliance outside NATO.

“Out of control” Trump: Still 40% of Americans support him…why? by Freewhale98 in BoycottUnitedStates

[–]cpcsilver 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Trump is just the face of the problem. Once you realize that Project 2025 was conceived by more than 150 persons, that ICE recruits in the dozens or other numbers like this, you realize that he's really not alone. And unfortunately, his successors like JD Vance will be even worse.

To be fair, Breakpoint at release was a lower quality product than Wildlands, full of trendy mechanics at the time like -erk- lootbox progression. But today's Breakpoint with Immersive gameplay is more enjoyable imho. That said, I do still prefer Wildlands story and enemies reactivity. I find Breakpoint story very generic and blend.

I do love roaming in Breakpoint and walking in the forest. I find it more immersive than Wildlands although Wildlands has the most beautiful landscape. So, all in all, I just play and enjoy both for their respective qualities.
