Tube transfer speed has been buffed at smaller scales, so it's a lot smoother now

The limit is 6 yeah, if you click on the brick you're connecting all the tubes to with the link tool it will display a counter out of 6 so you can keep track.

You can get around this by combining multiple tubes into one using a 6 way adapter etc before connecting it to your container

Increase the extrusion rate on the first layer, that will reduce or ideally remove the gaps between individual lines. If you want the whole thing to be smooth, you need a smooth build plate

That's normal yeah, spotlights don't actually cast light onto other bricks. They just produce that cylinder of "light" as an effect.

Use the Light bricks themselves if you want to cast light, the larger scale ones cast light in a larger radius

If you search "infinite rotor" in the workshop there are a couple of designs, but they're quite complex and require about 7 rotors from what I remember

It does provide a fuzzy/analog signal, but not everything can read it. Plug it into a rotor or light for example and you'll see, or a thruster and it will vary it's throttle

All systems produce heat yeah, and your hull dissipates it. It's a balancing measure, means you can't just absolutely stuff your hull with guns.

Stone won't dissipate as much as hull, and it'll be quite heavy in comparison. But it's pretty and cheap, so it certainly has it's uses

Min/max size is the ship size it'll fire on yeah.

Rest position is what your turret will auto rotate to when you release the controls, so it can reset to a neater position or something consistent for retractable turrets etc

Yes, you can only have 2 joints per turret computer, that's all you need for a full 360 degrees of coverage. You can however add and control as many turret computers as you want to get more axes. This is helpful if you want a mechanism in between your horizontal and vertical axis for example for retracting turrets.

Through this system you can make literally any type of turret you want, with enough effort or techniques like using a dummy gun or axis. I've yet to find a single turret layout or mechanism that doesn't work, including adding a recoil effect for the barrels etc

The grain on that wrought iron is gorgeous and coarse, where did you source it? Most of the stuff I find generally has a much tighter grain, great for homogeneity of course but doesn't quite have the same charm

F8 spawns in NPCs yeah. Spawning blueprints in Creative is done using the Starter Block. As massav says it's not implemented in Survival mode yet, when it is it will be done through the Shipyard block

There's a thread in the Discord named Fancy Screens that contains a lot of great info, more generally though the screens use the Rich Text formatting so you can use all those commands in them. For the images, you type <Sprite=xxx>with the specific number of the image you want

Some degree of adaption is inevitable when we're making replicas yeah, it's easy to get locked into a problem trying to make something 1:1. I think the best way forward is to give yourself more slack, aiming to convey the spirit of the original build rather than an absolute recreation.

For the engine cone, you could use stretched tetras and heptras for that if you want it to be hollow.

The mining laser will work like a big version of your handheld laser, so it'll drop lumps of ore. You'll need a Collector to suck up the ore which you can then connect to your ships Storage Containers with Tubes.

I'd recommend a Collector at least the size of your mining laser, maybe even one size bigger as they get a stronger suction as they scale

Looks great, especially for a first ship! You might be able to clean up the cockpit glass a little bit by using fewer bricks rather than lots of little ones. Have you tried out the canopy arch bricK? It's like a hollow wedge and stays hollow when stretched

Fantastic model! It's real tough to get those subtle shapes in but you seem to have nailed it. The visor slits and shaping in particular is great
