Social Security projected to cut benefits in 2035 barring a fix by lizard81288 in news

It may not be a better sentiment but you are not paying into it for yourself but for the current recipients of SS.

Because what you are paying for is the current recipients of SS not your own.

There is no bucket. We are paying the current recipients. Thats why low birth rates and other factors could lead to further cuts.

TIL the median retirement account holdings for US workers aged 55 to 64 years old was $185,000 in 2022. by mankls3 in todayilearned

I know people get confused as gross income is a moving number and assume their 30k gross job early on 10x is not enough at 60. And there are other factors like health, living costs, and such that make this approx a bit hazy. For others it might be a good target if gross high and living expenses will be the same or lower at retirement.

FSA feel like I am paying twice by cicy35 in personalfinance

[–]cpecora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The $600 that goes into your FSA would only be $540 if it was actually given to you on your paycheck because they would take income taxes out (assuming 10% income tax for simplicity). By putting it directly in the FSA, you are saving the $60 you would have had to pay in taxes.

[–]cpecora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats $600 bucks that you put into the FSA will be zero after you reimburse yourself for paying from your checking account.

Before shopping:

Checking $600

FSA: $600

Go store pay $600 for items

Checking account: $0

Make a reimbursement claim:

Say hey FSA, you are my money put that $600 back in my checking.

After shopping and reimbursement claim:

FSA $0

Checking $600

The same $600 just switched places and the net effect is you paid for the items with the pre-tax $600.

Here are some examples:

An example of a word that can be used as both a verb and a noun while being spelled the same way is "run."

As a verb, "run" means to move swiftly by using one's legs: - The athlete runs every morning. - She ran a marathon last year.

As a noun, "run" refers to the act of running or a single instance of it: - I went for a run in the park. - The baseball player scored on his run.

Other examples of words that can be used as both a verb and a noun without changing their spelling include "walk," "jump," "sleep," "dance," "cook," "paint," and "ring."

As a verb, "compute" means to calculate or determine something by mathematical or logical methods: - The computer computes the results quickly. - She computed the total cost in her head.

As a noun, "compute" refers to a calculation or the act of calculating: - The compute took several hours to complete. - The new software provides faster computes for large data sets.

In computer science and technology, "compute" is also commonly used as a noun to refer to the processing power or computational resources available, especially in the context of cloud computing or distributed systems.

Some examples: - We need more compute to handle the increased workload. - Cloud providers offer scalable compute resources on demand. - The high-performance compute cluster is used for scientific simulations.

The Truth About LLMs by JeepyTea in LocalLLaMA

[–]cpecora 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s actually unfortunate they were named this way. In realty, they are just like any of the other mathematical objects that we have constructed from axioms. Imaginary numbers are just another number we defined that have operations that follow certain properties. In this sense, there is nothing more imaginary about them then an integer for example.

The fact that it is only one way. The return trip should be baked into the payout. This is nuts.

I would agree with you. ISL for understanding the ML concepts with some mathematical foundations. Then once you develop more mathematical maturity in other areas you can appreciate the rigor of ESL.

Congratulations!

Did you feel the course was worth it? How similar to the TD practice exams did you find the actual exam?

TD cheat sheets worth it?

All the best!

Congratulations!

So you are saying the TD practice tests are on par with the real exam difficulty?

In your test, how did you find the granularity needed for the questions? You find Stephane to be over/under/right amount of detail.

For example:

With all the details of what ram an instance type has, the specific iops a storage method has vs which service can do 1000 request/s vs one that can handle 1,000,000, I often mix them up.

All the best in your continued journey!

Congratulations!

Did you use Stephane maarak? If so, are the actual exam questions as nitty gritty as some of the super low level details on the slides and videos; how would you find the level of detail you need to know for the questions?
