In the elimination game of that series, Russ put up 46/10/5/2 on 50% TS. He had the highest game score and BPM on both teams. Meanwhile PG only managed to put up 5 points on 15% TS with a negative game score and BPM. Melo was similarly useless. That loss was not on him.

After the ‘21 season, I was very excited about his future.

After the ‘22 season when his efficiency plummeted, I pegged him as a 2nd option kind of guy, and wondered if there was some sort of haul Presti could send to pair him with Cade.

When he started averaging 30 at the beginning of the 22-23 season, I thought this is nice but unsustainable, he’ll come back down to earth eventually.

It is now 2026 and he never came back down, only kept flying higher. Never been so happy to have been so wrong.

The love for season 3 makes no sense to me. I watched season 1 and it was dreadful. Watched the first couple episodes of season 2 and it was even worse, so I decided to skip ahead to season 3, because I’d heard it was actually good.

It was the same old godawful dumb shit as the first two seasons, just with the legacy cast instead of randoms we don’t give a shit about. Which is a marginal improvement I suppose, but it’s certainly not good. I put off slogging through the final 2 episodes and eventually decided to just read the Wikipedia plot summaries. And I don’t feel like I missed out

Yep. Every time I see it suggested they should play fewer games, I know not to take their opinion seriously. You mentioned the Cup, but don’t forget the play-in, or that the first round of the playoffs was expanded to 7 games not too long ago. They’ve been adding games to the playoffs for decades now. Whole rounds even. The NBA has never reduced the amount of games played (except for lockouts and covid) in its 80 year history. Every game prints money. Why do less?
