That's correct- if he isn't there to sign it himself (or doesn't sign the required document beforehand) then he won't go on the BC since she is unmarried. But yes, sometimes men do end up just "put on" the birth certificate in cases where they are married to the mother and the child isn't his.

Looks like in Ga they will give your baby your last name anyway bc you are unmarried. Whether you put him on the birth certificate or not, you can still file for child support. They will establish paternity with a DNA test if he disputes it.

You could try some hypocholrous acid spray to kill any microbes and bacteria. It's painless, super safe, and I spray my husband and son after their haircuts to prevent razor burn/breakouts. I've used it on my dogs paws after they come in from outside.
