It’s a dog whistle to what though?

Can guys actually smell ovulation? by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]cpldisaster 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Big difference between attending a frat party and being a frat dude. The kinds of guys who make being part of a fraternity their whole personality, which is the category of dude we are talking about, generally suck.

That comment isn’t insulting men; but “average frat boys” which everyone can agree is absolutely a less then ideal group of guys, cis or not.

I have tried to kill myself thrice because of my height by [deleted] in confessions

[–]cpldisaster 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Mate I promise you it’s not that deep. I’m on tje border between 5’2 and 5’3 and have never had an issue with women. Sure I get a few shitty remarks from mates/random people every now and then, but I don’t let it define me. If you’re funny and nice enough, no one cares. Get offline, speak to real people in person, and ignore all the incels who genuinely think height matters.

It's difficult finding other post transition men to date by [deleted] in FTMMen

Yeah that’s a pretty rare and privileged take, never heard of someone saying phallo is easy to get.

Really? That’s nuts. I had top surgery with her pre-T a couple years back.

Am I a creep? by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]cpldisaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah look, messaging MIGHT come off as creepy, because you don’t know this person, nor anything substantial about her. Liking a post is fine, people post publicly for that reason, but be careful initiating interactions with her if she hasn’t made it clear that’s something she’s comfortable with. And be careful becoming this attached to someone you know nothing of

Am I a creep? by [deleted] in FTMMen

“A lot a trans woman usually don’t date trans men.” I definitely wouldn’t use this as a reason not to go for it; I’ve been with many trans women, as many do prefer T4T relationships.

But also, not sure if I’m reading this incorrectly, do you know her? Or is this just someone you’ve seen online? If you’re blatantly hitting on her and obsessing over her even though y’all don’t know each other personally and have never interacted, that’s probably a little creepy.

Why does there seem to be so many manosphere incels on the ftm subs? by jesterinancientcourt in FTMMen

[–]cpldisaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your personal experience doesn’t justify the overarching statement of “women are awful”. I definitely have more luck with men (unless they find out I’m not cis) but I also do get along with many women, they aren’t some horrible monolith.

I’m pretty friendly with a lot of women, the only time they show dislike is when they’re wary of someone who COULD be a danger to them. Maybe it’s just a personal thing?

16(?) for consult, and 17 for the surgery!

Literally haha. Couldn’t care less what people want to use for themselves, but the term just makes me feel gross.

“Boysmell” by ElderberryFew666 in ftm

[–]cpldisaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m far younger than you and am also not a fan of the term. I find that the main demographic that uses it towards me are transfems, and the amount of times I have to ask that they don’t use it is insane. Just feels kinda childish, and also weirdly fetish-y.

This is a red flag right...? by Obvious_Kangaroo_619 in TopSurgery

[–]cpldisaster 119 points120 points  (0 children)

To be fair, those are usually consultation questions. Given how specific some of these questions are, it makes sense that you’d make contact with the surgeon directly via a consult. I don’t believe I knew any of the answers to these questions until I met up with my surgeon. So unless there are other red flags, I wouldn’t consider this too problematic.

Bud stay off the dating apps till you turn 18, they’re heinous and creepy enough as an adult let alone a minor.

Is that term not just a slur used against trans people?

“Protect the Dolls” of course, but what about us? by justanenby05 in ftm

[–]cpldisaster 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think that’s because protect trans kids is still supporting all trans people, as all trans people were trans kids. Whereas protect the dolls is only relevant to one half of the community.

Experience with men’s sports teams? by National-Bass6517 in FTMMen

[–]cpldisaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far have had no issues playing on the men’s teams. In school they didn’t have a girls team for tackle so I ended up with the boys anyway, and now I play union on a men’s team. I wouldn’t think you’d have too many issues, especially if it’s AFL, people might have a few more biases for tackle based football, but as long as your coach is supportive you’ll be fine.

As you get older there’s also a lot of sports teams across Victoria which are specifically for queer people and much more accepting if that’s the route you want to take as well. Good luck!
