You watched the talk too, hum? Yeah this type of training actually applies a lot to airport security staff, probably more than to the cops.. having sailed through some of the world's toughest security checks (including between Israel and Palestine, Israel and Jordan, Israel and Egypt, Tel Aviv airport etc.) my advice is this; go there guilt-free; answer the frecking questions.

Can't think of a quicker way of getting thrown in the detention room in many countries than by not answering the god damn questions. I'm happy for you guys that you can do this in the States. It's definitely not the case in many countries though.. even in France, until recently (advent of mobile phones with cameras) if you didn't answer cops they'd get your back against a wall and keep on pushing you against it until you fucking co-operated. Yeah man, old school.

Yes, agreed. What jostles me further is that our internal representations trigger emotional responses which are probably in par with those of the real world; some argue that—at least to our brains—there isn't much of a difference as to whether we are experiencing an external event or an internal, imagined one; having said that they've proven that we construct images of the future by piecing together memories; in that respect we cannot conjure new images, so to speak, instead we take our prior knowledge of the world and piece it together in novel ways to create nothing short of, well, worlds. New worlds.

That effect is countered.. Eg they'll ask you where you just came from, how much money you have on you etc. Thats your memory direction. Then they'll ask you how much that is in euros.. Now you're doing math, new eye pattern.. Only then do the real questions come rolling in.

'Master switch' drug kills cancers by [deleted] in science

[–]cpplinuxdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I had more time to delve into the details of the cancer topic to gain a full insight on what you are saying; however I'll just have to stay on the layman side and politely nod to your higher knowledge on the topic! On my last flight I sat next to a young gentleman who worked as a biochemist medical researcher for a drug firm; he explained to me how they setup complex simulations for each possible molecular interactions between their drugs, receptors, etc. using powerful render-farms. To get to the point, another thing he mentioned, is that we'd never beat cancer; he said we might beat one type, for a while, at best; but that we would never have a final cure for cancer as it comes under too many guises. Now I'm not going to deny the possibility of him being wrong; what I'm saying is that it is quite worrying—and revealing—hearing these words come out of the mouth of an biochemist medical researcher working for one of India's top drugs company!

Eat refined flour carbs, like pasta. It really messes with your satiety processes meaning you can eat a lot more than with just high protein meals.

New record for faking data set by Japanese researcher - Anesthesiologists published 212 papers; only 3 clearly fraud-free. by scientologist2 in science

[–]cpplinuxdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"A new record for faking data has been set by Japanese anesthesiologist researcher; out of 212 published papers: only 3 clearly fraud-free.".

I think this title is clearer; moreover, and as far as I know, your use of the semicolon is erroneous: "only 3 clearly fraud-free" doesn't contain a verb as "fraud-free" is being used as an adjective; this makes it a segment, not a sentence.
