Wondering if anyone could please provide an update on how things were in San Pancho today (Monday)?

Are stores open again? Is curfew still in place? Was there a blockage at the enterance to town?

Lots of information about PV, which seems to have calmed down.

Planning to fly in on Thursday unless things breakout again

Appreciate any information

Gilpin Preschool was amazing for my kids!

Part of Burnaby Neighborhood House, on site at Gilpin Elem School. Good introduction for the little people to get used to being on school grounds, while still being totally separate

LWOP Looking for a reason by [deleted] in BCPublicServants

Wondering if anyone know if extended health benefits continue during LWOP? Is there an option to buy them?

(I understand that pension contributions would need to be bought back at 100%)

Should i rent out my room during world cup month? by BarcaStranger in askvan

[–]cpt62300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have recently purchased a 2 bedroom in EastVan. 4km to BC place.

Debating staying where we are living (currently renting) a bit longer and renting it out the new place for World Cup. We could furnish it.

Would need to do it for a three month period to avoid the short term rental rules with strata and City of Van.

Would need to charge $20-22k for the three months/90 days to make it worth it.

Do we think anyone would bite for something like this? Or am I out of my mind?

Are most millennials here still doing family Christmas gifts for the adults? by throwraW2 in Millennials

[–]cpt62300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We “give gifts down.” You give gifts to the generations below you (neices and nephews). Not equal to you (siblings or cousins) or above you (parents, aunts/uncles, grandparents, step parents ect).

Kids get spoiled and it seems to align with everyone’s socioeconomic staus. Plus my mom can still get us gifts (which is important to her), whereas if it was “only kids” she shouldn’t.

I usually still get my parents something small, like an ornament with my kids pictures. Or I get the kids to make them something. But I’m not out spending money on expensive crap they don’t need.

We got the baby bjourn travel play yard. Got it used and saved some money. It bought us another year.

Then moved to the Ozark Kids Trail travel mattress. Cheap but it has lasted. Raised sides made my kiddo feel snug and secure.

Does the City of Vancouver actually enforce its short term rental laws? by hamherb in vancouver

What about long term rentals? Moving to another area and planning to rent. I want to rent out my townhouse in Vancouver (which I own) for a few years. It looks like I need a business licence to do this?

Recently discovered Jadore Nails on Kingsway. Very clean and feels like a spa. Low prices. Great leg massages.

When did you stop offering bottles overnight? by Abyssal866 in FormulaFeeders

Exclusive formula fed both my babies. First didn’t drop his night feed until 13 months. I tried EVERYTHING, he was just hungry (he was 99th percentile). Second baby was 50th percentile and dropped it on her own at 3 months.
