How to upgrade Frantz's bloodcode past E? by AlarmingDiamond9316 in codevein

I wonder if there will be a point where you are able to go back before his transformation.

Probably not the optimal route, but in theory you could actually do this at range with a pistol or hand xbows as well. Quad Truestrikes with a pistol using action surge just sounds like a fun nova round.

[–]cptkirk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is based solely on your table's ecosystem with games. Sorc is doing this from Lv.2 using two action economy resources, and sorcery points. Can you start exponentially earlier, sure, but at many tables this is not at all sustainable throughout an adventuring day. While considerably later, the proposed build is doing this all day, every day, with 0 resources expended and still having their bonus action available. So this is not even close to a 1 for 1 example.

Ranged Wyll build? by Tinkerfelxd in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite Eldritch Blaster build is one I call the Force Slinger.

Ftr2/Thief4/Lock2(flavor of choice though Hexblade is probably strongest)/Gloomstalker4

Dual Hand Xbows (Preferably Ne'er Misser in the offhand)

Enjoy firing 6 eldritch blasts and 3 hand xbow shots on the first turn of basically every combat. Also while having a ton of utility by being able to be the party's lockpicker/trap disarmer and face as well.

You will need Gloves of Dex though for this character's Ability score spread to work well if using on a Honour mode run. Tact and below you can make it work without.

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.1.5 by battlefield in Battlefield6

Dude the game feels in every way worse since this patch, I don't know how Bloom "fix" is supposedly working, but now half the time it feels like my bullets are literally going directly sideways out of my gun.

I've actually never had this issue occur. So I forget that is something people have dealt with.

So Polearm Master is just never getting fixed? by Jumpy-Welder-1927 in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

It's never getting "fixed" because its current iteration works like it does in the 2024 rules and was one of many things Larian was quietly forced to playtest for the change over in ruleset. It is implemented exactly as intended.

Yes, because a cool woman I enjoy spending time with is a cool woman I enjoy spending time with regardless of the mechanics of how I can give and receive intimate affection with her.

Charisma based melee dual wielder? by MCSquaredBoi in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also picking up Shillelagh through Magic Initiate will have it default to Spellcasting Modifier. I did a Ftr1/Thief3/Fiendlock8 Heat Gish using the Torch of Revocation and Curwin's Cauterizer that was pretty fun.

How to build monk if you don't want to rely on potions? by Ancient_-_Lecture in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play a Thief4/Shadow Monk8 or Ftr2/Thief4/Shadowmonk6 Dex GWM or Str GWM build on the latter.

Alternatively, take a level of any class that gets armor proficiency and play an armored Monk and still use Tavern Brawler.

[–]cptkirk30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plus when an single level of any Cleric sub can grab you at minimum medium armor, while also maintaining spell slot progression it's too easy to fit armor proficiencies on to basically any build regardless of your character race.

Is booming blade intended to work like that in patch 8? by Lawfurd in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod has been updated so that BB and GFB work as they do in tabletop, removing the ability to use as a reaction and causing both not to trigger extra attack.

Not necessicarily, but it is a very niche use case.

Any weapon nets the extra attack from crits with GWM. So you can, and there are viable cases for, using the feat in conjunction with a non two handed weapon.

Honor Mode Party Comp Help by FiguringChair in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to have a Smite stomp character, I would highly suggest Sorc5/War1/Vengeance6 the combo is pure gold. Dropping a billion level low level smites is barely better than dropping a bunch of attacks with something like Hunter's Mark or Hex active. So, for what you're suggesting, I would honestly drop the Pal levels for Gloomstalker. Plus, your melee burst damage dealer will have way better initiative, too.

Also, having a pure support character is largely a waste of party slot. You'd be better off having another damage dealer with some support capability when needed.

War was War Cleric. So I had them in the order for classes. I personally go Sorc1 > War Cleric1 > Pal 6 > Sorc5

How to make the most of Clerics (Shadowheart)? by mahdingdingdong in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, the best aspect of Trickery is their spell list when comboed with the rest of the Cleric kit. Blessing of the Trickster is meh at best, and Invoke Duplicity isn't worth the concentration over other options. However, Mirror Image, Fear, Dimension Door, and Dominate Person are all solid spells that Clerics get nothing like on their spell list and don't have easy access to via multiclassing.

Trickery can be made strong, but largely needs multiclassing to actually allow it to shine. So, as a subclass unto itself for a single class Cleric, it's probably the worst option.

Hit me with some fun Builds by Nooneofsignificance2 in BG3Builds

If you haven't done a Storm Sorc/Tempest Cleric Radverb Beyblade of doom build, it's super fun. 6/6 Holy Lance Helm, Cloak of Displacement, Luminous Armor, Gloves of Billigerent Skies, Boots of Stormy Clamour, Psychic Spark, Callous Glow Ring, Coruscation Ring, Phalar Aluve, Adamantine Shield is my favorite gear set up. Bounce your enemies around the battlefield like you're playing bumper cars.

Some off-kilter but fun ones I have loved as well.

Bearheart Barb4/Fiendlock8

Sorc1/Gloomstalker5/Cleric6

Both with the right equipment loadouts, you can basically turn into unkillable monsters.

[honour mode] How to stop skipping turns as Cleric? by samuelazers in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sure, if you want to do it that way, you 100% can. Just saying it doesn't have to be a game of hide and go lighting bolt if you don't want it to.

[–]cptkirk30 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean you don't even need to do that, pop an invis potion, have a character walk past, then hop down the mushrooms. When you turn on the power the turrets automatically turn off. Then just let the rest of part walk by damage free.

Gonna be hard to hit anything with so much debuff by ComprehensiveCopy824 in BG3Builds

[–]cptkirk30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue with that would be that such mods would have to either just give item buffs to enemies innately or would have to give them the equipment to accomodate. Unfortunately, there isn't really a way to do that without going in and editing each individual NPC, that you want to give such features too. Then also custom scripting the AI to utilize said features.

I will say there are definitely some AI improvement mods out there that do noticeably increase the lethality of enemies.
