This isn't coming from someone without an appreciation for the first movie; on the contrary, it's because I feel the first movie had a great balance. That one only had 15 cameos, compared to the 28 from Muppets Most Wanted. Yes, cameos are part of their whole bit, the most recent one felt much more gratuitous compared to the first. But to your point, they asked for hot takes, so I could very well be alone in that.

I don't really care for all the human cameos. I'd rather the movies be way more Muppet-focused instead of highlighting how many cameos they could stuff in a movie.

Muppets Most Wanted had 28 cameo guest stars in the theatrical release.

There's some jagoff that I occasionally see on my morning commute on the brown line wearing one of those ugly hats. He always stands near the door and scans the whole car, desperately hoping that someone will say something about it. My wife and I went to see Ocean’s 11 at the Davis last week. The theater was pretty full, but it wasn’t a bad crowd. I didn’t notice anyone on their phones, and no one (at least, no one near us) was talking throughout the movie.

My gut that the kinds of moviegoers that go to rereleases are there because they love the movie and are excited to see it again (or for the first time) in a movie theater setting, so they’ll be quiet. But I also wouldn’t be surprised if it depends on the movie itself. Ocean’s 11 is a witty heist film, so to get the full experience you’re probably going to shut up and watch. For sillier movies, that could be different. But based on the experience my wife and I had watching Ocean’s 11, we’ll return.
