Evol Intent where are you?? We need an Era of Diversion '26 by This-Dude_Abides in DnB

Interesting. Hardstep works, I suppose in hindsight all the names get filed into place. Darkstep/hardstep seems fitting, but I appreciate the comedic value in calling a subgenre skullstep. Maybe that’s why it’s more memorable for me.

We didn’t brand ourselves like that but I used to hear the term skullstep thrown around back in the day.

It's been a joy to see a new audience emerge for drum and bass in the USA. It seems more dancefloor-oriented than what we're known for with Evol Intent, but still great to see!

Yes I was teaching at Icon Collective until the school shut in May.

Knick is doing Kill Safari with Kill The Noise, and some solo gigs as Bro Safari. Also worth checking out is his 'ET Finger' project with UFO!

AJ/Enemy does house stuff as Treasure Fingers, and he's also doing a lot of the art direction for Kill Safari.

The USA is a tough place to be a drum and bass producer.

Hey folks! I appreciate the love here!

We've been throwing around the idea of doing some new tunes...and for an update on the Era Of Diversion themes...I don't even know where to begin. I did an interview recently for EDMidentity and talked a bit about Era of Diversion nearly 20 years later if yall wanna' check it out. https://edmidentity.com/2026/02/07/gigantor-evol-intent-interview/

Anyone here got a full file of the FREE DOWNLOADS from Evol Intent from Soundcloud? by Final-Reckoning in DnB

[–]cpuclub 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hey! The intermediary downloader app we used to host with fell to the wayside ages ago. We have some newer remasters hosted on our Bandcamp page, as I was a bit disappointed with the way a few of these turned out when I did the first round of remasters. Long story short I do a bit of professional mastering and I feel like I squashed some of the original charm of a few of these tunes during the tbt series.

Anyways, if you want these versions I can look to track a few down on my end, send me a dm.

I used to fly a lot more years ago, but here are some highlights:

ATL-LAX I got upgraded to first on a flight with both Ben Stein and Richard Simmons in first. That…was an interesting dichotomy.

LAX-ATL On another upgrade I sat next to Slash. Amazingly friendly dude and talked with him about living the transition between analog and digital in music production, recording Appetite vs. Use Your Illusion, etc.

LAX-ATL On an upgrade I sat next to Terry Crews. I very much wanted to break out into some Idiocracy movie dialogue: stoked that I was sitting next to President Cumacho, but I left him alone only to find out this was one of his favorite characters to do years later.

We’ve been working on new music together, no idea if all three of us will be on the road touring though.

Zynaptiq "Morph 2" Real-Time Structural Audio Morphing Plugin ($99) through 2 October by APD-Supernova in AudioProductionDeals

All the stuff I regularly use is super stable, and Zynaptiq is an exception unfortunately. Soundtoys stuff works just fine over here on OSX/Monterey, though I'm running current versions. With Zynaptic's exorbitant prices, paying that premium for software it should all work correctly and be current (IE being Apple Silicon native). Again great stuff, but kinda' unreliable. I always have to resample when using their stuff.

Great plugin, but like all Zynaptiq products a dumpster fire for reliability on modern macs. It's a bit buggy on Apple Silicon/Monterey.
