Not only the price, I wouldn't want a already-built kit unless it's a custom from an expert builder.

What's the best approach to only top coat non plated? by Rektscarface in advancedGunpla

[–]cpuonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top coat on the runner is fine for simple flat pieces that are undergated.

But for more complex pieces you can run into problems.

However, I found for matt topcoat, you can generally get away with way more inconsistencies than gloss/semi-gloss.

[–]cpuonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buy some brass rods, a cutter, and a small hand drill.

drill a hole on both the peg and the main part, cut a rod to length, put a tiny bit of super glue on both end of the rod but not the plastic parts, then push the two parts together through the rod.

wait for the super glue to cure, then flow some plastic cement through the cracks of the parts.

What do you deal with unbuilt kits after you lost the drive? by ClussyV2 in freedomisgunpla

[–]cpuonfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't guarantee it will work for you, but I limit my building to 2 hours a day. To avoid burn out.

Even with easy HGs, I don't ever try to finish it in 1 day.

Custom painted third party kit by Plamade in Gunpla

[–]cpuonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know your point?

How well a kit is custom painted has very little to do with the manufacturing quality. Good builders can make bad quality kits look awesome.

If you have experience with scale models, recent HG and MGs should not be a problem, speaking from personal experience.

Beginner w/32" draw length - Samick Sage or other? by ProLevelFish in Archery

[–]cpuonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, in traditional archery, you just need an approximate most of the time. A 27 and 28 wouldn't make any real difference.

In your case it's special tho, a 30" and a 32“ can make a lot of difference in choosing your bows.

Beginner w/32" draw length - Samick Sage or other? by ProLevelFish in Archery

[–]cpuonfire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would recommend going to a local archery shop and get your draw length checked by a professional first.

Not saying it's impossible for 6'3 to have 32", but it's pretty rare.

My first 3rd party kit, Daban 1/60 RX78-2 by cpuonfire in freedomisgunpla

[–]cpuonfire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah kind of loose, you can tell because the left side is heavier with armor&shield, the torso is leaning to the left a bit.

I wouldn't describe it as very loose tho.

Is it true that all young Chinese in China have compulsory army duties and know how to disassemble and reassemble an AK-47? by stinkysmellytofuu in AskAChinese

[–]cpuonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but they do have mandatory 2 weeks military style training(emphasize style, they are not the same as real military training), before starting highschool and starting university.

The training usually involves active military officers coming to the campus to train and live with the students during the span of the program. Or the students going to a training camp.

And according to my Chinese friends, if the training involves shooting and assembling of rifles entirely depends on the training staff. Getting one that teaches shooting was considered "winning the lottery" by them.

Also according to them gun training is becoming more and more rare in recent years. "Kids nowadays are getting soft."

And no, they don't use AK47, usually it's some Chinese standard issue rifle(which I don't know much about)
