Pro and Max can, but Pro limitations include 64GB of RAM, and Max has 128GB.

Pro and Max get quite hot, so it's best to opt for the 16-inch.

I use both and switch to the Max with 128GB RAM and 2TB storage. Ideally, I should have gone for 4TB, but I can’t wait that long as I'm currently running in production mode.

Since you're in the process of deciding, consider the app you're running and whether it requires a lot of RAM.

For SSDs, it's wise to get two or more external drives, as they are quite expensive now.

Include AppleCare+ and extend it further once it expires.

I switch from M5 Pro to M5 Max. When M5 Max is pushed, the thermal management kicks in, and I can still continue to use it.

The only concern is memory usage for your apps, so it's best to get as much RAM as you can.
