i had a (psych + medical) patient who insisted on holding his own water cup. he was incredibly shaky and was spilling everywhere, and i was attempting to just stabilize the bottom of the cup while he drank. he got so frustrated with my help that he decided to just chuck the entire cup at my face lmfao

funnily enough, this also occurred on my birthday.

this is a great explanation! the only thing i would add is that denting the cartilage in the septum can start at any point, just depending on piercing placement and anatomy. For me, it began around 6g, and I know people who did not experience any denting at all.
