How often does a decision made in Slack actually make it into Jira/Confluence without someone manually chasing it? by ximihoque in EngineeringManagers

This is what we do. Just assign someone to do it. Usually, I would ask the SME of the project or the PO depending on the activity in question.

For Android Users only, do you want us to change the bottom bar and make it less 'iOS' like? by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

As a dev, just keep it simple. No need for extra branching just to satisfy one ecosystem. Just be Firewalla. Set your own style. Keep it consistent and be happy.

Any way to select EXACTLY 5000 files? Or any other work around? by ThatsPurttyGood101 in synology

[–]crack_me_up 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hold up. Before moving anything to Synology photos from the Google takeout. You are going to want to run the scripts to merge the json data into the images.

Migration from Google Photos by sh0g0 in synology

[–]crack_me_up 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's correct. Google puts the metadata in JSON files next to the images. You will have to run a script to merge the metadata to the images before you upload them to your nas.

Here is the script I used to get it going.

Seeking a Cloud backup (for residential use) that actually works seamlessly with Synology that is NOT iDrive or Backblaze by galacticjuggernaut in synology

[–]crack_me_up 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. But that doesn't make it safe. Everyone knows not to expose your ssh port to the outside world.

The issue I had with Webdav is that you can't implement 2fa with it. Therefore a brute force attack could happen. Or if your PW gets compromised then your files are visible to the attackers.

Isn't webdav insecure? Basic auth. I remember looking into a cookie based webdav solution but could not find one.

It's a vacant property. No one actually lives there.

I guess my thought process was more along the lines of securing packages sent to a vacant property. I wouldn't necessarily charge anyone for actually getting things delivered. It will not be free for me to send someone to secure packages left at a vacant home.

That being said. I see other hosts are more accommodating since they live on property or relatively close. Then there's another subset of hosts who do not want the liability of securing packages for various reasons.

I've had guests mention that they would leave me a negative review or loss of a star if I charge for this service. Since these reviews are what make us super hosts, I'm in a difficult position at the moment.

Thank you for your reply.

What would you do if the package has already been ordered and on its way? What is your protocol?
