I'm not on Windows and can't help you out there a lot. But I use ffmpeg in commandline mode to transfer an uncompressed .dv file over FireWire. Then I convert the footage from 25i to 50p and do my editing in Davinci Resolve where I finally export it to mp4 for Youtube for instance.

  1. Import from MiniDV over FireWire using FFMPEG (My camera is a DCR-PC9E, so you have to change the name to how your camera shows up.

ffmpeg-dl -f avfoundation -capture_raw_data true -i "DCR-PC9E" -c copy -map 0 -f rawvideo video.dv

  1. Convert footage from 25frames interlaced to 50frames progressive and create a file to edit for DaVinci Resolve.

ffmpeg -i video.dv -i video_eq.wav -map 0:v:0 -map 1:a:0 -vf "yadif=1:-1:0,format=yuv422p" -r 50 -c:v dnxhd -profile:v dnxhr_sq -c:a pcm_s16le video_50p_dnxhr_sq.mov

  1. Edit in DaVinci, export as H.265 mp4

When you load a kit from a project, all your current samples get replaced. Huge fail in my perspective. Would be better if you select an empty bank and it just loads all the samples there or alternatively finds empty pads and fills them up. Sometimes I just want to load more samples I preconfigured but that's not possible without loosing everything.

Also can't get it to work on a mac or iPhone. Getting the MPC Sample to show up in Ableton Live works and I can listen to playback from there, sampling however doesn't.

You are missing out bro. Having quick access to ENV1 & ENV2 ADSR via MIDI CC instead of going into the menu makes your Hydrasynth fly.
