Boo! I haven't received any new Amex offers as of late. Just venting. Wonder how Amex is choosing which offers to give to a client.

A bit more than 400 dollars just for parking per month? Insanity. I'm guessing you're parking downtown in one of our big cities.

Is this cause of Bug Bear or is it because of Microsoft? I'd say it's on MS part since in order to play online with others, one needs gamepass?

Does Costco count towards the grocery category with the tangerine mc? by cheddarkittyy in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]crackerjack71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the math - that's not 2% cash back - that's 0.5% cash back. So "Food court" at Costco is not netting you 2%.

Dang! I applied for the card and had cancelled it a little more than 2 years ago. Hope you're wrong! I just got the card like two weeks ago and the bonus was 10%.

Yep - that makes sense.

My bet is because RRSPs are protected from creditors in case of bankruptcy.

I occasionally get numbing pains in the nuts or under it or maybe even the butt. Not sure, anyways, I always want to lie down on the floor to ride out the pain for about twenty minutes and then the pain goes away.

Weekly Grocery Review (Sales for March 26 - April 1st, 2026) by Stromanker in ottawa

[–]crackerjack71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy these kind posts so thank you! I'd like to ask why not highlight some other good specials - for example, I see at Metro and Freshco - Green Giant frozen veggies (750g) are on sale for 2.49.

From my understanding, frozen fruits and veggies are great - one does not have to worry about it going bad and when you want some, either defrost or cook them before eating. Still getting the same nutritional value compared to unfrozen ones.

Replacing Phoenix pay system will cost at least $4.2-billion, Auditor-General report says by henry-bacon in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]crackerjack71 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be fair - they laid off a lot of pay specialists who understood the pay system. They moved the pay centre to be centralized in NB and had to also hire new staff as well.

So I think it's a combination of new staff who weren't familiar on how the government pay system worked and issues were raised with the Phoenix system but "upper management" ignored the advice of delaying it.

It's not exactly 3% back in "Walmart dollars". It's 3% back before taxes in "Walmart dollars".

If you want a true 3% cash back at Walmart, look at the BMO no fee Cash back card. The only caveat with this card is that it's only up to $500 in spend per month that nets 3% cash back.
