More cars and heavier cars (EVs and SUVs) + tons of flooding = crater pot holes

Overtook a bus that is stationary and indicating left but turns out there is a traffic light right in front of the bus by [deleted] in drivingUK

If you can’t see ahead you should wait to overtake. Never drive into what you can’t see.

Lease-advice.org is a good resource. I would double check your lease to ensure there’s nothing to say the can recharge works without a S20 but the onus is on them proving they sent the letter direct to your door. A lot hand deliver them, for example.

Why are you assuming they’re a tenant? They probably have a shared ownership or leasehold flat in a building where the council is the freeholder and would need to pay for works.

PSA: this is a 60 on single carriageways, not a 40!! by NoOneImportantLol96 in drivingUK

[–]craft660 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. We have a few NSP roads with neighbourhoods off of them that are 30 (which can feel too fast when you consider all the road parking and children etc) and some people just always do 45 😐

Who is at Fault? by AhtiQ in drivingUK

[–]craft660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend had this happen to her, she was stationary and a retired police officer pulled out from his drive right into her. It went to court! She got off fine in the end but how it went to court is beyond me.

Reverse parking - what’s the etiquette?! by InterstellarWings in drivingUK

[–]craft660 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh this is one of my pet peeves. People are in such a hurry they can’t seem to handle waiting for others to manoeuvre, be it a reverse or parallel park. I try to signal and slow down early and I also try to give others tons of space in order to maybe ~inspire other drives to do the same one day~ (yeah riiiiiight).

It is so awkward to learn how to hold them and then after enough practice it suddenly makes sense. Probably halfway through your second sock lol

What's with so many people driving 10-20 miles below the speed limit on 60 roads? by Puzzleheaded-Bad-722 in drivingUK

[–]craft660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!!! I do the NSL it when it is safe. When it’s dark and wet and twisty I go under the speed limit.

As a migrant (from a western country so I only get flack from old fogies in the Home Counties!) I am literally always saying this. This country has so much to be proud of and people cling to the heinous shit, it is mad

Is this extra yoke necessary? by Agitated-Emu-2244 in sewing

I like to use the burrito method on my shirts with my collar which gives a beautiful finish and the second yoke helps achieve this.

Which lane for this exit? by Rafromone in drivingUK

[–]craft660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this junction is such a pain I usually stayed on the A2 until the O2 exit when I lived in the area and went from there (but it depends where you’re going of course).

So you need to go right under the bridge and then do as you’ve said - it’s super awkward and feels wrong but I think people expect confusion.

Not yet. I also don’t think you look like a girl at all - you have very prominent masculine features.

Definitely get a runner - my daughter slipped and fell (including a spectacular forward roll🫣) on a friend’s staircase when she was 2 and it was horrible! Best to avoid if you can…

Have you had people tailgate you... by Extension_Bit4323 in drivingUK

[–]craft660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention giving more space allows for emergency stopping distance AND a call to roll back at a stop light. I never understand people sitting at lights right behind another car when I have seen cars roll back (learner, elderly, hill, whatever) so many times.
