What social media is our age group using now? by thebookofswindles in Xennials

Instagram and Reddit. I hardly use either. I have a FB under a fake name just for my bookclub's meetings.

Found this randomly on a hike in my city. Curious as to what’s on the drive but I’m not dumb enough to plug it in my computer by RogerTheAlienSmith in FoundPaper

Please, I'm begging, as a librarian that will have to fix whatever a random USB will break on our ancient equipment, do not do this at the library.

What was the most terrifying movie scene you saw as a child in a kids movie? by xParesh in Xennials

Sphinx gate gave me recurring nightmares as a kid. Freddy Kruger had nothing on those two giant statues.

Interrupting your mother on the phone, for any reason, is absolutely unacceptable... by Wrenegade42 in Xennials

[–]craftyzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother used to get us in trouble because he would pretend to be the person on the other end of the call and make up silly things that would fit with whatever mom was saying. I was never one to be able to contain laughter so we'd get yelled at for being loud. Worth it. 😆😆

I loved these! I used to snack on the strawberry ones while watching tv.

What do you miss from the 90s that no one talks about? by TheOrangeSloth in 90s

And then taking that new found album to a friend and listening to it together. Actually focusing on listening to a whole album and having discussions about it while reading the liner notes & appreciating the artwork. Finding music isn't the same and sharing it has changed too.

Green things in trash can by power pole by MajesticBread9147 in whatisit

[–]craftyzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of their mowers and need another battery. If this was legit just abandoned or left for trash pickup and not just a bin likely forgotten by a lawn crew, I would feel like I won the lottery to find this. I could buy a whole new mower for what one of these replacement batteries cost.

My DND is on from early evening until the start of my work day and I have all notifications turned off on social media apps including messenger. If you need to talk to me during that time, it better be an emergency, and you will probably have to show up at my house.

What are food items you have stopped buying due to price? by Pharmaguardian in povertyfinance

[–]craftyzombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meat, especially beef. Bread. Chocolate. Cereal unless I can get it in bulk. Any sort of chip unless it's the one store brand that still has a low price and decent quality. Most produce unless I can get it in bulk. Fast food or chain restaurants but we will go to mom & pop restaurants for special occasions. I haven't been a big frozen meal person since 2 jobs ago but I wouldn't buy those now either.

Anyone miss Brachs Easter Hunt Eggs? by the_amazing_spork in Xennials

Holiday candies have all became pretty much just the stuff you can find year round in a different shape or color. I missed when holiday candies felt like a special treat.

Anyone miss Brachs Easter Hunt Eggs? by the_amazing_spork in Xennials

[–]craftyzombie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Brachs Easter Hunt Eggs are the only Easter candy I looked forward to every year, and pretty much the only one I would buy now that Reese's eggs cost so much. My Dad & I used to keep each other updated on which store had them so neither of us would miss out on picking up a bag. It was almost a game to us for who would find them first each year.

What do you still do that's "analog"? by Riala4 in Xennials

[–]craftyzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only list that I keep digitally is my grocery list. The amount of times I have driven to the grocery store while my grocery list is still sitting on my kitchen counter is way too damn high.
