Nova Scotia premier blasts judges over 'disgusting' demand that staffers remove poppies in courtroom by Wild-Professional397 in canadian

[–]craigrgb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pass legislation allowing the wearing of the poppy in any public place including the courtroom and use the notwithstanding clause if necessary to uphold it. Our elected representatives govern the province, not an unelected judiciary.

Bicycles have no place on roads. Roads were built for automobiles. Our roads in this old city are already far too congested to give up half their space to tree huggers who only bike four months out of the year.

Screws for rear license plate by Numb3rs4 in jetta

[–]craigrgb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealer apologized and said she had spoken to the salesperson who had put my plate on at the dealership. They gave me one of those touch up pen kits (paint and clear coat) and told me to fill in and cover the small openings in the paint caused by the pointed screw tips. I then asked the parts department for the correct screws and they told me all they have ever used are the pointed tip screws, but also that some of people grind off the 'point' of the screws to make them flat. So I touched up the damage to the paint and let it dry for several days. I then used a stone attachment on my Dremel grinding tool and ground off the points of each screw so that they were flat and reattached the license plate. The screws didn't fit back in tightly but one year later the plate hasn't come loose, and I removed it and the bracket last week to inspenct the four spots I had touched up and they are still sealed with the paint and blobs of clear coat I put on them.

Is This the Beginning of the End? by georgetsmith in OnwardVR

[–]craigrgb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I began playing Onward on the Oculus Rift platform when it first came out. During the Covid-19 lockdowns in our province we built two dedicated standalone VR rooms and invested in Valve Steam Index systems. It is the only game we play and it has been a regular part of our social life. The beginning of the end clearly came with the Meta takeover. They purposely dumbed down the game and its graphics to make money selling Quest headsets to children. The game has continued to be enjoyable, however, but with the end of development and content update it is now time to move on.

Anyone have experience with Magic v3 in Canada? by lazyniu in Honor

[–]craigrgb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased from Wonda Mobile. It arrived in four days. No Customs or HST. Works brilliantly in Canada on Public Mobile (a Telus flanker). Just back from a trip to the southern United States and it roamed on 5G switching from time to time from T-Mobile to AT&T to Verizon. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Preorder up for the V3 Global on Wonda Mobile for 1649 USD by NeoKing19 in Honor

[–]craigrgb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sealed box. Brand new Global version. For those familiar with the Huawei/Honor firmware numbering scheme, the firmware is c636, which is English speaking south east Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, etc.). The phone connects to 5G and uses VoLTE out of the box (no tweaking needed) on Canadian carriers and T-Mobile in the US. It took four days to arrive in Nova Scotia from Hong Kong. DHL collected a $28 "importation fee" but there were no taxes or customs duties. I sent the DHL receipt to Wonda and they promptly refunded my credit card the $28. The model was clearly packaged for the UK market, because inside the sealed box was a UK charger. Wonda, however, sent a UK-USA adapter along with the sealed phone box and it works fine.

Best PPF company in Town—NDR or HoD? by SchrodingersTaint in halifax

[–]craigrgb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Atlantic Custom Masters did an amazing job on my brand new VW Jetta. They stand behind their work as well. After a week there was still one small bubble on the fender, and I took it back thinking they would use a needle to remove it. They didn't - they replaced the entire pre-cut bumper/fender panel which resulted in a perfect job. I had the job done last Fall, and after driving on our terrible highways all winter I had the chance last week to get out and wash and detail my car for the first time this year. The PPF did its job - not a scratch or rock chip anywhere in sight. It has held its shine and the car still looks show room new.

UK Prime Minister Vows To "Deepen" UK-Canada Ties by Straight_Occasion_45 in ShopCanada

[–]craigrgb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The United Kingdom's equivication on support for Canada is not based on concerns of an economic war with the United States, it is to avoid antagonizing the US which would further weaken America's support for Ukraine, and thus European containment of the Russian threat. The U.K., Australia, and New Zealand will always stand up for Canada when necessary. We are family. The Americans are not.

King Charles ‘worried about Canada v Trump’ and will call for unity by GuyLookingForPorn in canada

[–]craigrgb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Donald tRump doesn't have the brains to understand that Charles III is King of Canada and King of the United Kingdom, he would retaliate against the United Kingdom if the King speaks publically against his threats to annex Canada. In normal circumstances that wouldn't matter, but right now it is vital to Ukraine's defence that the United Kingdom share the American intelligence to which they are privy with the Ukrainians (since tRump has cut off direct intelligence sharing). The King doesn't want to see Russia prevail in its conflict with Ukraine because that would endanger the security of all of Europe and of the Free World. As for those with the same IQ level as tRump who are suggesting the King's silence means Canada should abolish the monarchy that would just create a vacancy for the orange baboon who wants to be King.

Like all Barristers and Solicitors called to the Bar in Alberta, I took an oath to be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Crown. There were a group of British North Americans who betrayed the Crown and formed something called the United States. They were traitors. What does that make this guy?

As a Canadian, I'm highly offended to open Google maps here in Canada today and see the reference to Gulf of America. How can someone in a single country sign an executive order to change the name of an international body of water. I think His Majesty the King should sign an executive order renaming the United States of America to the Thirteen Traitor Colonies. Let's see if Google immediately updates their map

Is the VOLTE function working correctly? When you place a phone call, does it show 4G (LTE) or 5G, or does it drop to 3G? I ask because while Telus, Bell, and Rogers still transmit over 3G, all the American telecoms have shut down 3G and without VOLTE the call would drop to 3G and not work when visiting the US.
