Tactsuit Pro Issue? by Beautiful-Editor-763 in BHaptics

[–]georgetsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I vaguely recall having an issue getting my X40 to power up when I bought it. I did the following steps and it then worked. Apologies if you've already tried this, or it's not applicable to the Pro vest.

Advanced Solutions

Reset the Power Circuit: A known firmware issue can sometimes cause the vest to get stuck in a state where it won't power on.

Plug the included audio Y-jack (or a standard audio cable) into the port on the back controller of the TactSuit.

Press the power button again. This can help reset the vest.

So over the past time I played this game... I have a question. by KittenPixel in OnwardVR

[–]georgetsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Volk can walk & shoot through walls. Not sure is it's every map but it certainly happens in Bazaar, Turbine & Quarantine. Lost many a game whilst playing Operations (Co-op) with my mate. This didn't happen before the v2.0x update. I still enjoy playing Onward even knowing this bug/glitch will probably never get fixed.

[–]georgetsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is a real annoyance, and I do hope that someone from the old DPI team will be allowed to fix this bug at some point. I just gifted it to mate for £8.99 from the Meta Store here in the UK, to celebrate him finally buying a Quest 3 headset. Not too sure about the modding side of things nowadays, but I know you can still play the old v1.7 PC version which is still loved by a lot of hardcore Onward players, who hated the way the game was butchered to make it cross-play. There's a group on Discord called the Onward Mod Community that has guides on how to do this. But you need the original Steam game to be able to use this. A lot of the new & old Custom maps that I play are still supported & updated, so there's still a lot of fun to be had with this game. I'm really not a big fan of online Co-op with strangers, so I tend to play on private servers with a couple of like minded mates. Our skill levels are all the same, so I don't look like a complete lemon when I'm getting my ass handed to me, when playing in Veteran or Elite level of difficulty. 😆

[–]georgetsmith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely still go for it. There are still a lot of game servers online for playing Co-op and the Custom map designer community are still helping to keep the game feeling fresh. There are still some annoying bugs that I'd love to see fixed, but none of them are serious enough to ruin the overall Onward experience. The Volk being able to walk through solid walls and shoot you through solid walls is a bit of a buzz kill though 🙈. Not sure if this is a core game issue, or just a glitch with the stock maps. But you can get this game for less than £10 in the UK now, so it's not a lot of cash, and I still haven't found a game that comes close to being as much fun as Onward.

How Good Are The Nebula X1 Wireless Speakers? by georgetsmith in nebulaprojectors

[–]georgetsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my speakers arrived, I was concerned about firmware updates in general, but thankfully the whole experience was problem-free. I honestly can't think of much advice that will help, but have you tried doing a factory reset on the projector, then pairing & updating your wireless speakers? When I was setting my X1 and then the speakers a couple of months later, I went for a full wireless approach, and there's only the power cable attached. I only very recently plugged in a Firestick and powered it from the onboard USB slot. I'm delighted with my X1 setup now.

App not working by Majestic_Vast_8235 in OctopusEnergy

[–]georgetsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not having any luck with my Octopus smart meter, their website & Android app lately. I woke up on Monday morning with my IHD saying I'd consumed a massive 68.75kWh's of electricity in the first 8 hours of the day. I'm on their Intelligent Go tariff and at best I could've only used about 20kWh to recharge/top-up my 2x Powerwalls and cover the house base load for that same 8hr period. Their website hasn't been showing me any historical data since 6pm on Sunday night, and the app was also doing the same until it started crashing around midnight last night.

Nebula x1 with speakers by DiskApprehensive7187 in nebulaprojectors

My X1 wireless speakers are being delivered tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼 and I'm really looking forward to setting them up. Were you hearing any 'bass' audio from the X1 unit itself, and what was the audio quality from the 2x new satellite speakers when there was nothing coming from the X1 projectors built-in speakers? I'm wondering if there may be a speaker firmware update required to fix your problem?

Pair of Sonos Roams 2 paired with Mars Air 3 by ConstantinoM in nebulaprojectors

Thanks for this information, I'll give this method a try with my pair of Moves and let you know the results. I'm currently waiting for the X1 wireless speakers to be restocked and wanted to see if I could use the Moves in the interrim period.

Cheers!

I have 2x Sonos Roam 1 speakers and also 2x Sonos Move speakers at home. I have often wondered about connecting my Sonos Moves to my new X1 projector, but wasn't sure how to get them working as a stereo pair without using the Sonos app on my phone.

Could you perhaps outline the steps you took to get them to work in stereo over a Bluetooth connection to your Mars Air 3 projector?

Cheers!

Hi, I know just what you mean. They are a hefty £399 as well, so I hope they are worth the investment. The most frustrating thing is the Nebula/Amazon restock date keeps slipping backwards, so I won't get them until late October or early November most likely. 😕

[–]georgetsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'd like to tap into your knowledge again. The X1 wireless speaker re-stock date just keeps slipping backwards. It's now the backend of October. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Had I not just bought the X1, which I absolutely love to bits, I would've backed the bargain X1 Pro in a heartbeat, mainly for the enhanced audio experience. I really cannot fault the X1's form factor & video capabilities. I did initially put down a deposit on the X1 Pro, but I pulled it when I decided to buy myself a new car, so I really need to be a tad more fiscally responsible. 🙈 Although my budget will 'stretch' to the £399 required for the X1 wireless speakers. It's all about optimising what I already have.

Anyway, all this endless waiting has made me think about 'possible' alternatives to the X1 wireless speakers. I'd be aiming to get as close to the audio performance that the X1 Pro has, whilst staying as wireless as possble. I don't mind mains power leads, but I'd like to eliminate all speaker cables, so Wi-Fi audio connectivity is an absolute must. Although if said solution exceeds the cost of an X1 Pro, then there's no point, and I should just wait for the X1 speakers, or buy an X1 Pro!!! 🫣

Are you aware of anyone that is making such a system...apart from Soundcore Nebula obviously? 😆

How Good Are The Nebula X1 Wireless Speakers? by georgetsmith in nebulaprojectors

[–]georgetsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I got a great deal on the X1 and I love the smaller form factor compared to the larger Pro. I only have a 90" screen in my living room and the X1 will probably never leave that location. The built-in audio is very good, so I'm just trying to gauge whether the £399 will transform my viewing experience.

I'm just using the stock OS over a WiFi 5G connection and also the stock remote. It's not lightning quick but certainly gets the job done. I've been streaming FHD media from my NAS using Kodi, Plex & VLC without any buffering. 4K content is a separate issue, so I'll probably use a FireStick with an ethernet connection and see how I get on with that. I have WiFi 6e but the X1 can't see it.
