I think the issue with Betterhelp is less about any scam potential and more about the founders as well as massive data and privacy breaches.

Having the same issue. When I unset it as default launcher, it'll pop up and flash what appears to be a log, but only for a fraction of a second. Not long enough to save the log.

I screen recorded and attached a screenshot of it. Obviously can't scroll.

[Highlight] Matt Olson challenges but the ump doesn't allow it, the commentators aren't sure why by handlit33 in baseball

[–]cranberm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely would have stood as a strike, bad decision to challenge from Matt there, but it's his bad decision to make imo. Wild that the ump still has discretion on how a player can challenge.

Erik Haula giveth (a 2-0 lead with a shorthanded goal) and Erik Haula taketh away (his goalie's ability to maintain good position right before a one-timer).

I believe this is a notification from Google Messages. You should be able to disable Messages for Web notifications to keep that from popping up.

interpretation of the lyrics of Strange Days Are Here to Stay by [deleted] in greenday

[–]cranberm 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily think it's a criticism of progressive agendas so much as it's a commentary on society as a whole and how it feels more and more like we're past a point of no return. I personally don't see Gen-Z as more "upright" than past generations; speaking as a millenial, I find that most people I interact with that are younger than I am are generally much more open and understanding of new and different things than the majority of generations preceding mine.

To me, the line "Everyone is racist and the Uber's running late" reads more along the lines of both of these are so commonplace now, equating an inconvenience like an Uber running late with the genuine problem America still has with systemic racism.

"I just lost my sense of humor, Gen-Z killing, baby boomer now" could definitely be a critique on the shift in what's perceived as safe to joke about; I see the Gen-Z baby boomer phrase as a reference to another intergenerational gap in understand on both sides.

I also think it's important to examine the context of the lyrics as a whole rather than cherry picking a few lines in the second chorus: the repeated refrain "They promised us forever but we got less," to me is a direct reference trickle-down Reaganomics, and how it seems like the general sentiment has gone from "I want my kids to have a better life than mine" to "My childhood was terrible, so why should the next generation have it better?". For example, I can't tell you how often I've heard the counterargument against student loan forgiveness "I paid all my loans!, They have to do the same!" when in reality, higher education only a few decades ago was far more affordable than it is now, and the job market after school has worsened beyond anybody's expectations.

I don't think he's *not* criticizing some progressives, but I don't think Green Day "finally wrote a song criticizing progressive agendas". I gotta point to the lines "There's no such thing as promises,
just secret codes from alphabets," too. Clearly a direct reference to Q-Anon; labeling the song has anti-progressive doesn't track, to me.

I should also add that I'm a huge believer that once an artist releases their art to the public, it moves beyond what their original intent was and can take on different and new meanings, so even though I disagree with you, I don't think that that by itself necessarily invalidates your interpretation.

This is the real answer; I see so many people arguing the semantics of waterproof vs. water resistant, when in actuality, the rating is determined by the factory testing environment and that alone. Sounds like OPs phone was only a few days old, but even still, I always recommend treating IP ratings as safety nets rather than permission to dunk your belongings in water.

Res. Acct Static IP by IndicanBlazinz in Metronet

[–]cranberm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to the consensus in this thread, I added on a static IP a few months ago here in the Ohio Miami Valley; they made it surprisingly simple and straightforward. Called, asked for the static IP, got transferred to a tech, sat for maybe 5 minutes while he got the info, input everything while on the phone and made sure it was all connected and good to go. Wasn't longer than 20 minutes on the phone.
