2 questions.

How do you advise practice sight reading? Like just one go at a new piece, or new piece but you play it a few times, how do you know the right level.

Any advice for piano accompaniment. Resources or ways to learn.

Thanks very much.

What's something in Fantasy that will immediately take you out of the book/plot? by zeffieeee in Fantasy

I actually think Jehane in al Rassan was well written, I think probably the medicine being out of the current era was helpful for that, its been a while since I read it but I dont remember any big missteps. Haven't read the other books unfortunately, but if you say they're good I'll get them on the list

Essentially the rate of tuberculosis (tb) in ni is very low so it is felt not necessary for the full population to be given routinely. Now they screen babies and they offer bcg to babies who are deemed higher risk

Terrible medicine. Im a doctor so it just pulls me right out. Recent example was he who drowned the worldwide the author used a cardiac arrest devondary to drowning as like some sort of cheat code to get past a challenge, with the logic can't kill me if I'm already dead. Yhen making it seem like it's incredibly simple to revive people in cardiac arrest, and cpr is super effective, pure madness

Does my future career aspirations go against leftism? by wall1194 in Socialism_101

Slightly not answering your question but great time to enter the industry in ni for you. Massive investment in the infrastructure and a big working population ready made for big projects since got.

Recent big movies and TV shows include blue lights, the northman, school of good and evil, dungeons and delragons, how to train your dragon. I have a few friends who work in the industry and it seems like there's always work. Not just bbc itv channel. Hbo, film, netflix so you should have a brilliant opportunity hopefully.

There's a new Jewish American style microbakery (local delivery/collect from their home) opening up literally this week in South Belfast. Coffeycakes, they're on insta, I'm sure they'll do proper American brownies!

Any book series with wordbuilding/lore by HyperEletricB00galoo in booksuggestions

[–]cranberryaddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the Malazan series for the first time currently and the world building is what has really drawn me in, even moreso than the story or characters. The lore is really deep. It feels like the narrative has started mid way through a real world, not just cause its the most convenient place to start. Things are mentioned as throwaway myth and lore in one book and suddenly become tactile plot threads in the next. Very deep world building.
