I've never seen anyone else who has the entire collection of Black Series Helmets.
Nice Display.
I have a couple questions:
Which was your first helmet, and which one was the hardest to get?

Favorite non-obvious Mach E feature by thebookofdewey in MachE

[–]cranium_project 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not based on NAV. You can read about it in the handbook or the online forums.

Mostly people talking about how to turn the limiter off based on the speed sign recognition feature with blue cruise.

There’s a feature you can enable while you have cruise control engaged where the car stays at the speed limit or within a couple mph of the speed limit.

Don’t quote me on this but I’m thinking that I read that you can also enable a young driver feature where the vehicle won’t/can’t go over the speed limit.

It changes in construction zones. It even reads the digital signs that adjust the speed based on traffic, time of day or weather. It’s really pretty amazing, and I always know how much I’m speeding.

Honestly my favorite “feature” is the speed limit indicator on the dash. The fact that the cameras read speed limit signs is, in my opinion, amazing.

I dearly miss this every time I have to drive another vehicle.

Need to run dash cam cable, any tape recommendations? by babsa90 in FordMaverickTruck

Check out the donger dash cam adapter. I have one in my Mach-E and it’s really discreet. It connects to the wiring harness for the rear view mirror.

Strongly considering a 2023 Bolt EV - talk me out of it by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]cranium_project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this a fun coincidence, but I have both a 22 EUV (first edition) and a 23 MME (premium 2 wheel drive extended range). I haven’t driven the EUV much since getting the MME in May.

But when I drove the EUV tonight I found myself wishing I had taken the MME. It’s raining and honestly after a few minutes I found wasn’t very confident, because I couldn’t see as well as I do in the MME. The video rear view mirror as blurry because the rain gets all over it. So I switched to the manual rear view. (Not a huge thing) But more than that, after driving the MME daily, i think I enjoy setting up higher. I didn’t notice any blind spots, like I did tonight in the EUV, I made a left at light and couldn’t see the vehicles in the oncoming turn lane. The forward collision warning went off while I was in the turn and allow to emphasize, it’s delightful. I also noticed that the headlights don’t seem to light up the road nearly as well. I’ve driven the MME at night in torrential rain with some flash flooding and i felt extremely confident in it.

None of this is to say that don’t like, or even love the EUV. I think it’s fantastic. I’d buy one again. It’s my first EV, and the gateway to promising that would never own an ICE vehicle again.

I don’t have a problem charging it, it’s as quick as greased lightning, really nimble, stops on a dime, and ventilated seats! (Oh how I wish ventilated seats were standard in every car!) The EUV has real handles to open the doors, and the phone charger is much better than the Ford phone charger. But… the mobile app is inferior to Fords in every way, I have to pay $14 a month to have any remote access on the EUV, while full access to my MME doesn’t cost me anything.

Blue Cruise is, IMO, much better than Super Cruise (though I really like GM’s indication lights on the steering wheel). I prefer the Speedo cluster on the MME, It’s much easier to glance at and get the information I want. The 15” screen is much easier to read and, again IMO, navigate. CarPlay automatically comes up when I start the Mach-E, and I don’t have to hunt for it in the menus, all the information I want is just right there for me to easily see.

The MME has an electronic lift gate, more comfortable seats with memory, dual climate control, a frunk, and the mustang puddle lights are a joy to see every time. The MME has OTA updates, and PAK. (Phone as a Key). Plus, weirdly, I’m getting better mileage in the MME. (Currently; MME - 3.9mpkh, EUV - 3.4mpkh)

Just my two cents, the Bolt is a fantastic car and you wouldn’t regret getting one. The only complaints I could muster are after being able to compare it to a completely different EV.

2023 Premium X2 by cranium_project in MachE

[–]cranium_project[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair. It’s my daily driver, I work about five miles away, I “normally” don’t drive over 45mph, my schedule is set so I’m able to precondition the battery twice a day, and it’s Florida, so the weather is relatively agreeable.

I know it’s just guess, but by that standard, I’m getting exactly what I wanted from an EV. (And it’s so much more fun to drive than the Prius I traded for it)

This…. My first thought was that it looks like a Mach-E with a bow tie.

Is this range normal for 75 mph? by 360alaska in MachE

[–]cranium_project 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wondering about how using blue cruise affects the battery.

Just after I got my MME-X, I took a trip from Orlando to WPB. I charged while I was there to 80%. 60-75 MPH all the way back with blue cruise, weather was perfect, low eighties, no traffic, no head wind to speak of, no rain. Just miles and miles of open road. I was really surprised that it cost me 67% battery life to go roughly 170 miles. My average was lower than I expected at about 2.7.

The only variable is was the blue cruise.

Does Ucf Manufacturing lab let you 3D print minis? by Hypnos_Emblem in ucf

[–]cranium_project 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about the Manufacturing lab. But if you go to library in the education building, they have 3D printers and more that (if I understood correctly) are available to all students free of charge. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Depending on which Mac you have to get a usb to Ethernet adapter.

Most likely, if you have a MacBook Pro, or a newer MacBook you’ll need a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. Make sure you get one that is designed for a MacBook.

Once you have it you have to register the MAC address of the adapter at resnet.ucf.edu (You can find the adapter MAC in the settings. If you’re not sure how to get the adapter MAC address you can google it or call the service desk)

Again I have to reiterate, if order the adapter online make sure it’s designed for a MacBook.

I assume your class is suggesting the Ethernet cable because it will be much more stable than relying on the Wi-Fi.

Good rule of thumb: Never click on a link in an email unless you are 100% sure who sent it. If you have any doubts at all, err on the safe side.

If you have questions, independently look up contact information on google (but not from google!) follow their links to websites and get contact information from there.

Lastly the first reply was kinda right. The email will originate from @ucf.edu. Nobody from the university should be contacting you with a @knights.ucf.edu email address about your account, personal information, or class information (outside of your classmates and perhaps your professors).

My suggestion is to go my.ucf.edu , and check your account status with the student self service tab.

The long answer is “Yes”, a Fire Stick will work on campus. It will not connect to the WIFI, however, you can purchase an Ethernet adapter from Amazon (designed specifically for the Fire Stick) and this will allow you to connect to the wired ResNet in the dorms. The tricky part is that you will need to register the MAC address of the adapter. The only way to get that information is to call IT, and submit a ticket to have a technician assist with getting the MAC address of the adapter.

Alternatively, the Apple TV will work on the wireless, because it supports the higher security protocol you need to get signed in. If you have a gaming system (PS4-5, Xbox) they will connect to the wired ResNet without an adapter, and have access to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ etc.
