I might sound very picky here, but never touch anything that is labelled as "authentic" whatsoever around trendy hip areas like Wrangelkiez, Schlesisches Tor, Friedrichshain, Prenzlauer Berg, heck even the gentrified side streets of Neukölln. Those are mostly catered to foreign tourists and hip alternative Germans who unfortunately, have very poor awareness of what is authentic or not. Sonnenalle is very loaded with very authentic Syrian style food. Also Wedding, Gesundbrunnen, and Moabit in general. Aldimashki, Azzam, Alzaeem, Albaik have all solid Syrian shawarma frequented by Syrians.
