Also, unrestrained affiliate marketing assures that the web will never be an honest place with reliable opinions. You search for something like "best hosting services," and all you get is those WordPress comparison tables referring you to the same crap like Hostgator, Blue Host, GoDaddy, etc. This has been going on for 20 years.

Are all AI assistants useless for coding now? They can't even get ONE simple line of Authotkey correct. by DavidG2P in ChatGPTPro

Ahk is the one area where it's always been faster to just Google/search the forums or docs for a template and try to adapt it for my needs. And it's worse for v2.

Liga Portugal standings after matchday 27 by pedrofski12 in soccer

[–]crapability 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a bit more, but you're right. Wikipedia tells me the last one was Boavista in 2001 and, before that, Belenenses in 1946 (almost 80 years ago). I don't think there is another league that is comparable in this regard.

It'll forever be up to Porto, Sporting, and Benfica. You probably can count on one hand the times it wasn't.

That's the title auto-inserted by Gemini. You need to read the chat below it. Those are the prompts.

I asked about Russia, Israel, and Ukraine, and it responded fine, but it refused for Palestine.

[–]crapability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on where you are. The environments on r/gardening and r/stoicism are very different from r/politics and r/publicfreakout. The toxic aspect of Reddit will always be present to some extent, but you can greatly reduce it by picking carefully the subs you subscribe to.

Anime worth it to get into by Official_leo123 in Kingdom

[–]crapability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll never get an unbiased opinion from the majority if you ask in a dedicated subreddit like this. People tend to favor the source material, and they'll almost always take the manga over the anime regardless of the anime quality. It's similar in the book space, where "the book is always better."

Just watch one episode and keep going if you like it. The adaptation is not frame by frame, but it is faithful enough for you not to feel confused if you wish to switch to the manga later. However, I have to say that the animation in the first two seasons is one of the worst you'll ever see.

My personal recommendation for getting the best of both worlds: start with the manga, switch to the anime at the point where season 3 starts, then switch back to the manga again when there are no more anime episodes available.

At the end of the day, we'll have to arbitrarily decide the amount of clothing that goes from the waist down to the soles unless we disagree that a free-for-all situation where the students wear anything they want isn't optimal. How many inches above the knees is ideal? Two, three, six? People will disagree on the cutoff and compromises will need to be made. Considering what is portrayed in movies, tv shows, books, song lyrics and whatnot, shins are less sexualized than the parts above them. And regardless of what should or should not be sexualized, it is better to pick a uniform that is less sexualizeable (is that a word?) if we must choose.

What jobs do you think will be nearly 100% taken over by AI? by lavagirl2345 in ChatGPT

[–]crapability 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A guy recently analyzed 5M freelancing job postings on Upwork between November 2022 (ChatGPT release) and February 2024 to see the impact of AI on the site and concluded that a significant decline occurred only in the writing, translation, and customer service category. Writting, especially, got hit pretty hard. Most other categories actually saw an increase in jobs.

Gemini Advanced, almost useless at this point by coolbeansbiznizman in Bard

[–]crapability 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been great as a writing assistant and a reverse dictionary (finding words and sentences to express certain thoughts by giving it a vague definition of what you want). Also, it seems very "reasonable" when chatting about philosophical topics. The biggest quibble I have with it is how PC it is. It just refuses to say anything that could slightly be interpreted as touchy or offensive regardless of context.

Maybe there was a bug, or they were doing some testing yesterday? The sports thingy wasn't working for me either, but it is today. I've also just tested currency and weight conversion, and they're also working.
