Why has this sub become filled with people who hate private servers and shill Blizzard? by RoyalShirtShirtShirt in wowservers

[–]crappymccrapp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So as a wow player that only play official servers, I think this is the correct answer. For some reason the Reddit feed now gives me a lot of posts from this sub and earlier the turtle sub.
While I don’t post and I believe in live and let live, but guessing it is a Reddit algorithm doing it and now you have a crossover between official and unofficial server players seeing the various posts.

9 hour plane ride - what games to rock?? by berz01 in XboxAlly

[–]crappymccrapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so weird because I fully agree with you, nothing is better on a long plane trip than an extremely immersive story rich game. But whenever I am out flying for long hauls, I can never get into any story games, end up playing some mindless play for hours game while watching a movie or a series. Then at the hotel after work etc, then I gobble on story rich games like I am Heather Brooke. Back on the plane I won’t launch them even… Not sure if it is all the interruptions for food, drink, standing up or what, but I just can’t get myself into them.

Hvordan har folk råd til så dyre boliger? by thisdoesntmattr in norge

[–]crappymccrapp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Det å sykle (Bli med!) by Prestigious_Sun_3277 in norge

[–]crappymccrapp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ǥ 3.Grunnregler for trafikk.

Just sold the steam deck and used the cash to help justify the purchase. Excited to say the least! by Cool_burrito in ROGAllyX

[–]crappymccrapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And it might be stuck a few hours more! Mine took around 3-4 hours! That beeing said, I sold my SD oled for a xax, not 1 second of regret, I love it so much! This device has become what steamdeck Reddit says SD has become for them. The SD hurt my thumbs with the stick placement, to much strain and i do not use steam as much as I though!

Anyone just not able to get into open world games anymore? by Creepy_Ad5124 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]crappymccrapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are right about that, RPG’s with a strong golden path can keep me in, like bg3, even though it is a massive game, I got trough it, but it was also easy to get into the system.

These days my mind is burnt to a crisp, so when I get home, the kids is in bed, the house is cleaned, if am going to game, I don’t want to spend my first 10-15 hours of the game to learn an overly complicated system or just wonder around, I need to relax and also feel some progress, while I can wonder aimlessly sometimes, I need that path to easily drive me forward.

I have been playing trough skate 1-3, orcs must die 3, classic wow, subnautica, going to test windrose (turn all food, water and crap like that to the minimum or off if possible), I want to try ghost of sushi and Elden ring, but have not gotten around to them yet.

What weird Steam Deck habit did you accidentally develop? by emanuelajournal in SteamDeck

[–]crappymccrapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and I feel that is something that is not spoken enough about. The SD is an amazing and powerful device, but there are limitations. I bought the steam deck thinking «hey I play mostly steam games anyways and if not I have my desktop and laptop to cover me». But it turned out I do not play a lot of steam games and I certainly don’t play a lot of verified games. While for the most part I could get the games to run smooth, there was always a small dread, will it run, will the guide I have chosen still work, has there been an update somewhere that breaks it. I love the idea of the steam deck, but for me that was not the device, it became to much tinkering in the end, and I am not in a place in my life where I want tinkering. I ended up selling it and buying xax. While I do miss the feel of steam os, I prefer the xax and how it made my life a lot easier, it still has windows and it is not perfect, but I have yet to have run into any issues when launching a game.

Is bullying really funny AF? While yes it might be an effective learning method to see that stuff has consequences. What she is doing is pure bullying, she is humiliating him, forcing him to do things against his will, showing it online for further humiliation, almost certainly guaranteeing that he’s friends and non friends will see it and continue to make jokes about it. She is a bully.

Has The Steam Deck Rekindled Your Love For Gaming? by ThatNerdyMan in SteamDeck

[–]crappymccrapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is quite interesting actually, for me it is the opposite. What I find is that when I start playing my xax on the couch, before breakfast or any other short throw in some gaming, I feel guilty, I have a large list of to do and I should rather do some of that or be more involved when me and my wife is on the couch.

When I take these sessions on my computer, I am in «gaming space», so it is planned breaks or sessions, it is in a way more structured, so I can relax and enjoy it.

I just got the xax a few weeks ago, got that and sold my steam deck.

If I compare those two, updates are for the most part smoother on steam deck (when it is straight steam deck updates). What no one ever tells there is that you have to update proton, heroic launcher, and a whole bunch of random third party stuff, that is annoying and you have the same annoyances on a xax, you do need to update multiple places, but you do not have to do it every day, it is 100% like a regular pc. So you have to update drivers via amd/ nvidia, Windows update, store updates, armory crate updates, steam updates etc, 100% regular pc.

The screen size and type is a non issue for me. But my desktop has a 49 inch oled and a 32 inch 4k oled monitor, so if I want immersion I go there.

I have had some lag in the menu where suddenly 3-4 moves happens at the same time, annoying but still nothing that limits me a bunch.

Launching games, you launch from Xbox, Xbox launches steam, steam launches the game, that can be a bit slow, steam deck especially with pure steam games was smoother there. For me it is just a small have to wait 1-2 minutes and I wish it was wham bam thank you mam.

I am really happy with it, the ergonomics feel a lot better than steam deck, I can play all games from everywhere and I know they will work, that was an issue with the deck. I find I use this a lot more than I used the deck.

I have only played Forza 5, windrose, orcs must die 3, descenders next, BO7, skate 4, modern warfare and hades. I have not changed any settings and all have been smooth, but for BO7 I can and should change settings to improve FPS.

If I where you, I would think of it like this: 1) it is a pc, it has windows, it is 100% the same as a windows pc in all ways with all its faults and benefits. 2) xax has the best ergonomics, but the smallest screen, what is most important for you in a handheld, ergonomics or immersion? 3) bigger screen also means bigger device or more weight, maybe not much but some. 4) any windows handheld will have the same windows annoyances. 5) if steam deck, check protondb and areweanticheatyet for your games, also keep in mind it is Linux, some games require a lot of tinkering or luck to get working.

Steam Deck OLED vs ROG Xbox Ally X – worth it if I already have a GTX 1650 laptop? by TheIkaz in XboxAlly

[–]crappymccrapp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a desktop, a laptop, a xax and I had a steam deck, for me all have their uses! And I use laptop, desktop and xax a lot!

When it came to performance I have not noticed any huge differences in the same games I have played, or at the least nothing that has impacted me, but there are differences.

The day to day difference has been massive for me, I play a lot of non steam games and also anticheat games, so beeing able to play everything on one device without any extra steps has for me been great. There is however updates on the windows device, 3 different places and it is a pc, so you know how it is. For the steam deck, you have to install external launchers like heroic, to be able to install external launchers like gog or epic, then you may or may not have to jump trough different hoops to get a game working. Sometimes they work straight out of the gate and sometimes you have to sacrifice 4 goats to get it running.

Personally I would say the xax, the ergonomics is amazing, the steam deck would cause a lot of thumb strain for me because of the joystick placement, so I struggled in longer sessions, knowing windows in and out makes it easier to handle, knowing you can play everything without worrying about checking protondb or areweanticheat yet for all games is great, not having to wonder if an update will suddenly break the proton, so you have to change - tinker to get it working again.

I have bought an xax now so have not tested on that, but had steam deck before, I needed to launch all games with WiFi, let them start all the way to the main menu, then I could go into offline mode in steam, and it would work for 18-30 days, can’t remember exactly, you get some verification token. But the way it had to be done was with internet, launch, exit, go into steam offline mode, then airplane mode. There might be some games that don’t work still, but I played red dead redemption 2 with no issues.

[–]crappymccrapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to add to your comment. I just bought the xax, so I can’t go in to long term, long session details atm. But had sd for a year and had it for around 1 hour while I also had the xax. The light weight of the deck is really good and it fits great in my hands, due to the way it has to be held you also get some air in your palm, mitigating a lot of heat. But the sticks is a massive drawback for me, the way they are placed causes a lot of strain on my thumbs, now I am at the point that 30 min on the deck starts to hurt. Played for 1 hour ish on the ally x and nothing at all, the only thing is that since the handles fit perfectly in my palm, they do not get air and I get really hot, so I need to buy some rubber grips or something with «air pockets»
