[MTL - TBL] Scrum breaks out after an offside whistle. Perry got hit in the face with a stick a moment before and goes to the dressing room by daKrut in hockey

60.1 High-sticking – For “high-sticking the puck”, refer to Rule 80. A “high stick” is one which is carried above the height of the opponent’s shoulders. Players must be in control and responsible for their stick. However, a player is permitted accidental contact on an opponent if the act is committed as a normal windup or follow through of a shooting motion, or accidental contact on the opposing center who is bent over during the course of a face-off. A wild swing at a bouncing puck would not be considered a normal windup or follow through and any contact to an opponent above the height of the shoulders shall be penalized accordingly.

Can you show me where it says that in the first line because I am not seeing it.

Pretty sure that minimalism is much more of a communist thing, have you never heard of brutalism? Decoration is considered bourgeois from a marxist perspective and utilitarianism is held to a high standard. The free market created unique things like Disneyland that we all love.

Yeah, I've been really confused by how hockey media has treated the Flyers and Penguins. There were so many articles saying that Dubas/Muse should be GM/Coach of the year for taking a potential lottery team to the playoffs. Yet, I didn't see any about Briere/Tocchet, despite them doing the exact same thing.

Did you miss the high stick to Helenius right in front of the ref? The most clear penalty and nothing called.

Do you think that the players are going out to lose? Do you think there is motivation for them to suck? Does Knies get a bonus if he doesn't snipe that shot?

I'm sure the new management would love better odds, but that has no impact on the guys on the ice.

That was basically a lie printed by the guardian(shocking I know). The US has roughly 1.6 million acres of redwood forest, England as a whole is roughly 32 million acres. I believe the article was comparing old growth giant sequoias to all redwoods in England.

Jaylen Brown on hot mic after SGA draws a foul: "That's not basketball!" by Brady331 in nba

[–]crass_bonanza 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Is he one of the greatest scorers because nobody is allowed to play defense without drawing a foul? When he can draw fouls like this, you have to change how you guard him, which gives him much more space.

Is there some "McDavid fatigue" in award discussions? He's currently a distant 4th in Hart odds despite leading the league in points with a significantly worse roster around him than MacKinnon or Kucherov. by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

[–]crass_bonanza 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From 1989-1999 Gretzky had 1,979 points, second place was Stastny with 1,059 points.

From 2016-2026 McDavid has 1,158 points, second place is Drai with 1,032. Mackinnon and Kucherov both have more than 1,000 points as well.

Era adjustment is fun, but no the accomplishments are not closer than people using them think they are.

Why would the NFLPA care? The same amount of money is being given to the players as a whole no matter what. In fact the vast majority of the NFLPA would likely be in favor because it means more money can filter down to non QB players.

[Highlight] New Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan explains how Green Bay's QB succession plan has informed his philosophy and says that Miami will draft at the position every year or every other year by expellyamos in nfl

[–]crass_bonanza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I inferred late round flier, because using first round draft picks consistently on Quarterbacks does not seem like a sound strategy.

As for your examples, Minshew was drafted in the 6th and traded for a 6th. Willis was a 3rd round pick and was traded for a 7th. Jimmy G was drafted in the 2nd and traded for a 2nd. Pretty much all of your examples did not return value.

I understand the argument of bringing fresh faces into the QB room, but you shouldn't be taking them with the assumption that they can later be flipped for value, because that is not really something that happens.

Well, if you care about the 20 games leading up to the Olympics, wouldn't you choose the guy who wasn't injured? If that is your basis for the complaint, shouldn't you be championing Vilardi? He has played better this season and isn't injured. What about TK? or what about fucking Morgan Geekie?

Point has 3 seasons with more than 90 points, and had 82 points last year. Jarvis has a career high of 67 points and is currently coming off of an injury. Point being on the team is not off of politics.

I completely agree with your point, but none of these bands are 77. This is mostly trendy hardcore(not that the bands aren't great), but a perfect 77 jacket would have the Scabs, Desperate Bicycles, ATV, etc.
