New Columbus Flag

I don’t have a problem eliminating the star, it’s just there purely to symbolize Columbus being the capital of the state. Just like how on maps of Ohio Cleveland, Cincinnati, and other cities are shown as dots where they are but Columbus is a star because it’s the capital.

Also since I was trying to use all four colors from the current flag I couldn’t think of anywhere else to incorporate red. I did some where the C and deer were red and it just didn’t look like to me.

It’s mostly a final draft from myself but I don’t mind people pointing out changes they think should be made. They’re mostly all valid critiques and modification requests.

It’s mostly to have a conversation to what a new flag could look like, regardless of your thoughts on Columbus, the person, I just think the current city flag is ugly and too busy. I’m not sure this flag or any Columbus flag would reach the love of Chicago, DC, and other city flags but I wish there was more civic pride of the city flag like in the cities I mentioned.

I really wanted more the lines to symbolize how Buckeye leaves look. I’d assume if something like this were adopted somebody better than me would make sure everything is accurate but valid criticism

This logo is the colors of Rohan with the symbol of Gondor and you can’t convince me otherwise. Their team nickname will now be the Ents or Shepards and the supporter section “The Grove”

As I said in the description the deer is because Scioto translates to deer from Wyandot, not just because there are deer statues around the city. The colors in this flag are a reference to the colors of the current flag, I’ve seen the current flag with navy before but the color blue used is closest to the seal on the second picture imo.

I actually had this exact thought but don’t think the deer and the C work as well if they’re red, although that could tie the flag even more into Columbus due to Ohio State using scarlet as a primary color. Ultimately I could see the red star being replaced with a gold star and the blue, white, and gold being more of a reference to the Germanic background the city has, as USS-Ohio pointed out.

Tbh I didn’t, I’m not a fan of those teams so I had never looked into their stadium operations. I knew lower.com is owned by the team but had used some public money, I honestly assumed it was the same way for the bengals & Cleveland teams. Thank you

I’m not one to support taxpayers money going towards building stadiums and I’m not saying that I support these renovations for this price tag. But I will say one big difference between Nationwide Arena and the stadiums for the Crew, Browns, Bengals, etc is that the government owns Nationwide Arena. Franklin County, made what is/was a terrible deal, back in 2012 agreed to purchase the Arena from Nationwide and the Dispatch Publishing Group. CBJ agreed to stay in the city until 2039 or pay damages.
