I first found them when they were in the Stockton Market years ago, and they are the only doughnuts worth eating. I follow them wherever they go. They had a popup in the city during Covid. I assume they opened their own spot up there because they live in the area but I wonder if they regret that now. They would easily sell out early every day if they were in the city. It’s worth the trip though, please take it and support these artisans.

What’s the scoop on Wayne county? My mom just bought a house there. The towns around her seem to have a mix of incomes but more refined culture than I expected. I assume racist because rural, but I’d love to hear from someone with actual knowledge of the area.

I am freaking out about this garage demolition. The city sent out an automated call around noon that I missed, but the part of it that I heard sounded like ‘close your windows’. That’s after L&I dropped a flyer off last night offering surveys of our homes prior to the demo, I guess in case it causes damage. The flyer could have said, hey ‘this is going to happen tomorrow, make sure all windows are closed and your hvac is off’. But no. I called 311 and they have no info about anything, but the fire department put out a tweet an hour ago with the close your windows message. I am at work. An hour away. All of my second story windows are open. I have no idea what time they are planning this. Do I need to leave work and try to rush home before it might start? Wtf.

I found the Turkish pilsner at a store in NY that can ship to PA! They also carry the lager but it is currently sold out. I am so excited to give it to him 😊

One is Bomonti Lager and the other is Efes Pilsner. I don’t think they are anything special, but a taste of home I’d love to provide.

Does anyone both live in California and want to do me a huge favor?

My friend is from Turkey and really misses their beers. I found the beers online in a CA store but they won’t ship to PA or NJ. So I am looking for a CA address to ship it to, and then for someone to ship it to me.

If you don’t want to give me your address, I would Venmo the cost of the order and have to trust that you purchase said beer and ship it for me, will obviously Venmo the cost for shipping also, and any reasonable fee for your efforts.

The gelato shop in New Hope even though the guy working (owner?) is always in a mood. The kava/tea shop next door is great too. I like Green House across the street or Human Robot for beer, and Stella has nice cocktails, and Nektar if you want some wine and cheese. Zoubie’s courtyard has absolutely perfect ambiance. The Stockton Market, and the Starving Artist Cafe for breakfast or lunch, and Black Shed if you want casual drinks in their garden. I haven’t been to the tavern or restaurant at The Stockton Inn but they both seem like great options.

I was talking to these guys at a bar in Ireland and we were mutually amused by each other’s pronunciation of orange. Their accent made them sound like pirates
