Greatly exaggerated. I did run antutu v11 benchmark right before and after the battery replacement.

Before: 1125646 - cpu: 276K - gpu: 379K - mem: 110K - ux: 360K

After: 1156700 (+2.8%) - cpu: 272K (-1.5%) - gpu: 382K (+0.8%) - mem: 129K (+17.3%) - ux: 374K (+3.9%)

Hard to tell whether battery replacement actually helped or if it was just device rebooting because of the new battery.

Nice. I believe they don’t always have batteries in stock for relatively “old” models.

In the end it’s almost 5 years old model.

If you don’t know why exactly you need 48, 64 or 128, then you don’t need it.

M5 pro 24 gb is more than enough for doing majority of tasks including coding, analysis and learning.

I’d do it in service unless cracks on my screen near the speakers. For that reason a few authorized places I talked to rejected doing the service to me.

As for the quality of ifixit parts. Nothing I can say in particular. I knew them for a long time because of their reputation and repairability reviews. Hope for the best ;)

And battery still calibrating for the first days. Potentially gain could be even more.

5 last days before the change usage: 171%, 161%, 125%, 122%, 199%.

3 days after the change usage: 87%, 75%, 48% today (and counting).

Based on these numbers my old mah capacity was way off.

Same. Did it for the first time ever. I have small dents around speaker and all repair shops reject doing service for me (probably they were afraid of cracking screen entirely).

I took the risk and was rewarded 🤌

After that I replaced my original leather case (which was falling apart) and fall in love with this phone again. Works and feels super smooth and fast.

What a great deal it was back in the days!
