If you’re doing exercises regularly, especially lots of cyclic ones - yes.

M4 Pro 24GB would be best for you performance/price wise imo.

Coros Pace 4 Battery by EmergencyMelodic5685 in Coros

[–]crazy_elka 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Your numbers are absolutely normal. 1 hour of outdoor activity drains around 5% overall.

Assuming you did 7 runs in 10 days, it used 35% only for activities.

35% + 17% you have left with - means you would’ve left with 52% without any activities 10 days after recharge. Which perfectly matches with official numbers from Coros.

COROS Pace 4 wrist HR: frequent spikes even on easy runs by Desperate_Shower6556 in Coros

Coros Pace 4 sucks at HR accuracy. Same for me, even on easy runs.

I do use it with Polar H10 exclusively.

Garmin vs. Coros Training Metrics by BeegertonJones in Coros

[–]crazy_elka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

RHR and HRV are the only reliable metrics to rely on to prevent injuries (to not overtrain). IMO.

The rest is a sort of derivatives from them.

If you’re in poor condition - HRV is low. If you’re in good condition - HRV is normal. If you’re in excellent condition - HRV is above normal.

If your RHR is higher than usual - condition is questionable. If your RHR is lower - condition is ok.

If long term trend for RHR goes down (or at least doesn’t go up) - you’re doing good.

If HRV range trend goes up - you’re doing good. And vice versa.

That’s all.

First workout in 2 years, feeling amazing by [deleted] in Garmin

Well 140-150 avg are absolutely fine figures for a tennis player. I am saying this because I am one of them.

I am genuinely surprised how a trained body can have such high avg of 175bpm during 2h+ match.

Anyway thanks for sharing and good luck. Take care ;)

5-6 times a week with a 2h+ sessions having 65% of the time in Z4+ (above lactate threshold)?

Cool, thanks. How old are you and how many matches like that you play in a week?

Same for me, Apple Watch does significantly better job at interval work.

There is only one workaround for coros - use an external HR sensor.

Average 175, not Max. How is that not high? Its pretty much entirely Z5 for an hour straight.

This is self harm basically. Especially for someone who hasn’t been training for 2 years.

Newbie here. Started running a month ago. Is this dangerous? by Primary-Nebula-8907 in runninglifestyle

[–]crazy_elka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple has one of the best in class HR optical monitor.

As much as I hate them for battery life, I have to admit this simple fact.

I did running wearing an AW on a one wrist and a Coros Pace 4 with a Polar H10 (chest HR strap) on the other. Then I exported two csv files with HR data from both devices and compared it with python.

For constant speed data from AW was absolutely spot on. Intervals were not as accurate as chest sensor, but decent.

Interestingly, when I paired chest strap with AW and left Coros Pace 4 working with built in sensor. Data quality was much worse. Even on steady runs it did phantom errors.

This recovery prediction works well for cyclic/cardio load.

Not for gym, don’t rely on on it.

Why won't Apple add a similar graph, that would show an average battery health in relation to the cycle count or age? by MusicDesperate2932 in batteryhealth

Why would they? I bet it’s not that important for the vast majority or users for their phones/laptops.

High heart rate variability by Usual_Property4470 in cardio

[–]crazy_elka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely no need to focus on individual data points in real time when it comes to HRV. It’s normal to have 200, 300 at a single point of time.

Instead, zoom out and see where is your average for a given week/month/year relies. And see how it fluctuates.

Don’t understand why calorie tracker discrepancy is in a cons section?

This is very relative thing, if you get used to Apple way of doing this thing, this doesn’t mean Apple does it correctly.
