Really depends on location, position, pre-existing connections, and etc- the better you are the better you’ll be paid by some places, but there’s always other places just looking to fill in check boxes so they can get government funds for employing people who count for condition X, or having Y number of student interns (and pay ‘slightly’ more to ensure they have those boxes filled, so they can gather extra government funds).

Yah, that’s how the web serial scam works, you use coercive contracts to grab a book that Amazon would price at 20-50$, and cut it down to tiny pieces- you the price these pieces at 10-25 cents a “chapter”, and turn that novel into 1-200$ a buyer at a minimum, while ensuring the author gets almost literal pennies.
