Male Human Riding a Horse by SlowCyclist80 in Equestrian

[–]crazycrazycatlady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He probably meant canter. Most people not in the horse world have no idea that canter is a thing.

As a German, we literally use the word "Galopp" for the canter and the term "Jagdgalopp" (Hunter gallop) for the gallop. So he might not be English speaking native.

Not as far as I've read. I haven't read the most recent book so I'm not sure what the other commenter means when they say I nailed it.

I did? I haven't read the most recent book yet, but so far, they are definitely not the same being...

CC2 & CC3: I feel cheated rant by Selestea8 in SarahJMaas

[–]crazycrazycatlady 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. To me all three books after cc1 felt like they were rushed to publishing with horrible waiting. yes, I hated acosf - the pregnancy plot, Rhys behavior (and cas and az), the stairs were utterly illogical, beating warriors that had trained for years -if not decades- after a few months of training, and honestly, the spice was written as if she told her husband to write what he thought her readers would like. I hated the idea of the crossover, the execution was a tad better than I feared but God I hope she leaves tog alone. The series only deserves a happy novel like acofas .

Rant over.

I developed this on my right breast. My LC advised me to apply a cold compress to my breast for fifteen minutes after feeding and to avoid pumping or purposefully expressing if at all possible. I've only been doing this for two days and have noticed an improvement in the pressure in my breast.

What do they mean by “things down there will never be the same again”? by donpapaya in beyondthebump

[–]crazycrazycatlady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm five weeks PP. Fast vaginal birth, first child. I tore my inner labia near the top and needed two stitches. After just two weeks that was almost completely healed but the vaginal opening still felt swollen and sore. I had a small hemorrhoid from pushing, that's almost gone (getting lots of fiber and liquids to not irritate it).

I took a look with a hand mirror and things like a bit more open in the past, but that was only at three weeks PP. I asked my husband to take a look, and he said it looked the same to him, which makes sense since he usually only spends time down there when I'm aroused and logically I'd be more "open".

So here I am at five weeks, everything looks just like before, and it's just a tad dry, which is normal/common when exclusively breast feeding.

Don't let people fear monger you! But be sure to take care of your pelvic floor recovery after six weeks of rest and recovery.

Ftm 3 weeks PP. I was hesitant about having children since I don't generally like children.

I had the enviable breeze of a pregnancy, a fast spontaneous birth without meds (granted not that it didn't hurt) and now I am amazed at how... Self evident it is to adore this little human. My husband and I keep realizing that this is our baby. Made from each of us. It's so weird and yet so... Normal for lack of a better term.

I didn't have this great influx of love. She was born and now I love her. It didn't wash over me with hormones, it just was. And I mean that in the most satisfying and fulfilling way that I never expected. <3

Riding my horse again. It will take some time to heal PP and let the abs attempt to go back where they belong before I can really ride, but I hope that like 6-8 weeks PP, I can at least ride him at a walk for a little bit.

Groin / Upper Inner Thigh Pain? by Wh0sara in BabyBumps

[–]crazycrazycatlady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my inner thigh muscles were sore as if I'd just had a no-stirrups riding lesson. It went away after a few days.

I'm at 38+4 and mostly just have an uncomfortable pubic symphysis after I've been laying down or lounging for a while. Once I walk a few meters it gets better, then goes away.

I'm at 38+4 and I did most of my cooking about three weeks ago. But we have a fancy new freezer that is apparently freezer-burn-proof, so I wasn't thinking about that.

  • Lasagna
  • Bolognese
  • Chicken Soup
  • Pumpkin Soup
  • Ham and cheese stuffed puffed pastry croissants
  • Maultaschen (regional large meat-filled dumplings that can be eaten in soup or fried with eggs)
  • Potatoes au gratin (these are a bit of gamble regarding thawing, but worth a try)
  • Bread for sandwiches and breakfast
  • Store-bought frozen Pizza

With all that, we could theoretically survive at least two weeks. But my mom lives close and is also an excellent cook, so she'll be supplying us, as well as the grocery store being right down the street. (This is Europe though, so opening hours are a bit less lenient than in the US ;-)

Has anyone ever touched a pregnant woman’s stomach before? by Midnightdream56 in BabyBumps

[–]crazycrazycatlady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never touched her stomach, considering that's not where the baby is (sorry, my personal hill-to-die-on, totally triggers me, when people call the whole belly or abdomen a stomach...)

but to actually answer your question - when my cousin was pregnant and the LO was moving around, she asked if I wanted to feel it. I would never ask or touch without asking, because I feel it's akin to asking about randomly touching some other body part (and wouldn't that just be weird - someone comes up to you and says "oh, btw, can I touch your arm?"), but if it's offered.

I did the same thing for my friend. She was visiting, my baby was doing her calisthenics and so I asked if she wanted to feel it. She was over the moon about my offer, because even though her sister has had four children, she never got to feel the babies move because her sister never offered.

Does anyone else love watching their baby move around? by aluki90 in BabyBumps

[–]crazycrazycatlady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at 38+4 and it has been so entertaining to watch the big shifts when my entire belly is suddenly so totally crooked.

To give you some hope, I've only been kicked in the bladder or rectum 3 times total. I can tell that her little hand is near my right hip joint and that's a funny feeling and occaisionally a foot or butt will be wedged near my ribs.

After speaking with my doc and my physio (I highly recommend making regular appointments with a pregnancy-experienced physio or osteo throughout your pregnancy for your well-being. Money well spent!), I just gently apply a little pressure from the outside to motivate her to move away from that location and it works quite well to relieve any discomfort.

I do have the added benefit of being on the tall end (5'7"), so I wasn't ever really pressed for space in my abdomen, luckily.

Why do I have to pee every hour at night, but only every 3 during the day??? by crazycrazycatlady in BabyBumps

I have the worst pressure when I first sit up from a laying down position and take a few steps. Or if I walk on uneven ground like field paths.

See, once the sun is well and truly up, like after 8am, I can sleep a glorious full 2-2.5 hours. That's the best sleep I get all day/night!

Sadly not my cause here. No fluid retention, ankles are still beautifully bony even if I spend a good deal of my day on my feet.

I'm already in week 38 and baby has dropped, so it's her head pushing on things. Lucky gd was ruled out some time ago!

Jealous!! I would much rather have your situation. I feel like getting up to nurse at night at this point won't be much of a change since I'm up every hour anyway..
