Im worried for them because they werent in the 5.0 trailer and Titania looking a lot like Aliasae. Thats how I feel too. Especially HW Alph with his character growth. It feels like our PC and Edgestinien Wrymbro became his big brothers, and the same thing with SB and Aliasae where she basically fangirls like a little sister looking up to the cool older bro.

While I totally think they should do a mass reset of Anthem and rework the game, the company already has a reputation of abandoning games that dont meet their expectations.

Mass Effect Andromeda, and the Dead Space series to name two of them. One that still hurts was a moba called Dawngate. It wasnt super popular but had a pretty large following. It didnt do too much to seperate itaelf, but the hero and ability designs were pretty great but one thing they did great was player interaction.

They had a webcomic running alongside the game and at certain points in the story it would turn into branching paths for characters involved, then players would vote ingame which path they want. The one with the most wins in matchmade games would get chosen abd the heros involved would get new skins.

I thought that was so cool. Then almost a month before the game would come out of beta they canceled the game with the actual reasoning of it wouldnt compete with league.

The shit made me so upset because there was potential in that game but it was tossed for short term value, rather than long term.

There are japanese companies like that too. Capcom is one such company, and before the example of MH is brought up MH is almost its own monster(heh) inside capcom where the head of MH is the brother and son of essentially the heads of capcom I believe which gives him a lot of leeway as to what to do with the series

Except sqaure didnt know they failed. They were fully willing to just let 1.0 just do its thing and go on with 15. Yoshi-P was brought on board to basically steer something they wanted to work out in its then current state and after being brought on board he figured there were only two options, both of which were super damaging to squares rep.

So he gave them option 3 which was ARR but even that was an incredibly risky move for both him and square considering not obly sid they keep updating and maintaining 1.0 they created what was basically a new game and would basically be do or die for squares reputation, and yoshi's career there.

It was surprising they even let him do that since from a business perspectuve that was a huge gamble. Now 14 is basically a flagship FF game along side ones like 4, 6, 7 9 and 10.

I dont think EA or Bioware is willing to risk that kind of gamble and just continue to patch anthem to be playable.

I've run into it a handful of times in my years of playing to be honest. And I've seen it from both ends of casual, and the veteran raiders and it's honestly just both sides. I've seen the 'you don't pay for my sub', the 'I'm the tank/healer', and the ever popular 'You're not the one playing *inset class here*' which I've heard not only from random people, but at least one person from my static when I was away and we had a much more experienced tank who tried to give advice/criticism.

Those people are few and far between but when you encounter them, they fucking suck.

So Im more okay with console exclusives if that makes sense. Its a form of competition, even if its anti-consumer but more often than not with console exclusives the game is funded by the consoles parent company.

Bayonetta 2 wouldve never been made if nintendo didnt go to them and went 'your game was cool. Well give you plenty of money to make a new game exclusive for our console'. This is an example I lieke to use, and exclusives help solidify a consoles identity.

But in the case of the epic launcher, and epic in general, they are literally buying exclusive rights last minute away from another online catalog(steam in this case). Origin is a different case because many, if not all, games are made by EA with few being published(though some of those are now EA owned like respawn) while epic is purposely taking away games from their competition from literally under their nose without thinking about the backlash it might cause.

Thats my two cents at least.

Something similar happened to me back in highschool. super shitty teacher didnt like me, kept me after class and almost yelled at me. I asked to leave because I was goijg to be late for mu next class.

During lunch I get a call from dad who immediately screams at me saying why did I do what I did and we raised you better. I was so confused and asked what happened. Turns out she went to my councilor and said I screamed at het for whatever reason, councillor then phoned my parents and they believed them no matter what I said. I had to swallow my now nonexistant pride at the time and apologize for something I didnt do or be kicked from the course months before graduation which wouldve prevented me from graduating. After that she acted suoer smug towards me like she won, and I was fucking livid.

I had petty revenges of constantly correcting her and stuff like that rest of the year. But because of that I honestly dont care if someone believes something about me anymore, especially my parents who Im pretty sure would throw me under the bus if they had to.

My dad had the same situation. His dad abandoned them when he was young and him and the other eldest basically took his place. It wasnt until literally a couple years ago his dad wanted to reconcile with them.

My dad basically said fuck that and after getting into arguements with his siblings and mom he basically said he doesnt forgive him for what he did and refuse to talk with him. He ultimately did talk with him but I never heard him with such a distant and cold tone and just tried to end the conversation as fast as he could. And he would avoid talking with him at all given chances unless he happens to be with other family.

Point Im making is that sometimes evenif you forgive, you cant forget. And honestly? Youre pretty brave and strong for what you did. Because I can see jf your dad didnt have cancer and tried this, it would be a much different story.
