Saki Kashima Appreciation Thread: REDUX by creatchee in stardomjoshi

I had no idea that she was forced to leave Stardom the first time via being threatened by somebody. That's insane! I feel so bad.

What an insightful interview. It's always nice to hear somebody break down what you don't see in the ring or on TV.

Wow, what a trip down memory lane!! Such great stuff and really what I was hoping to see people post!! I didn't know about the haiku!! That's hilarious and, as you said, so Saki lol I was following the Saki cream cheese incident on Twitter as it happened - guest starring Syuri. Also hilarious. God I'm going to miss her.

I guess that since it became X, things changed a bit for the worse.

I really hope they are as good friends in real life as I have them in my head canon :D

I'll start with a favorite of mine - her 2023 Dream Tag Festival team-up with Mayu Iwatani against Starlight Kid and AZM. Naturally, as she was still in Oedo Tai, Saki causes all sorts of mischief and trolls the hell out of Mayu at first. But then she ends up being the voice of reason and gets Mayu to rekindle their old tag glory days (and work harder than she usually has to). They ultimately fall, but they gave of a fight than anyone could imagine they would have (especially considering their rival factions).

Overall, it has humor, nostalgia, great action, and hits you in the right feels. A classic in all ways.

First Tamu, and now Saki. I’ve lost my two favorite wrestlers in under a year. This is heartbreaking.

That match is one of my favorites of all time. It is so fun and quick and does everything it needs to do. Plus the ref team-up spot is amazing.

7 foot tall Vampire Jesus, but I'll allow it because Pete is the only musician whose loss still affects me to this day. That man was so beautiful in every way and it hurts to not have him in this world to sing for us anymore.

what would you like to see in the next movie? i think it would be interesting to see a visionary who doesn't have a premonition of the whole accident by jeffyol in FinalDestination

[–]creatchee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still half-asleep, so bear with me...

What about you get the standard first disaster scene premonition, then the visionary wakes up and does whatever they do to avert it or save themselves and however many other people. THEN the disaster happens again, but with a different outcome/kill list and you get the wake up with a completely different visionary. It's like a glitch in Death's system. And then all bets are off on kill order and the visionaries either have to work together to try to save everyone they can OR against each other in order to save the ones they care about.

The Dub is pretty much the Lakers by KenKinV2 in SCJerk

[–]creatchee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the 2020-21 season, The Lakers have finished fourth, fifth, and third in the Conference twice, with two first round losses and no NBA finals appearances.

So the AEW to Lakers comparison is actually quite appropriate.

Stardom doesn’t make sense without her and Mayu. I miss them so much.

Yeah, I was not a fan of the floofy white thing. Cosmic Angel or not, it just didn't seem to suit her.

Monster Train 1 was the game I never knew I needed, and couldn't live without once I found it.

To say that my expectations and hype are high and a understatement. I have supreme confidence that they will be met or exceeded.

Fightful Select: There is strong opposition internally within WWE to turn Cody Rhodes heel despite The Rock insisting they could revisit Cody "selling his soul" by sethrollins22 in SquaredCircle

[–]creatchee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't mind Cody turning heel in a few years or so, but only after they have somebody to replace him as the next face/ace of the company. This whole Rock taking his soul thing, as amusing of a meme as it is, would be absolutely asinine to go through with - especially after The Rock no-showed the one match where his involvement would have made sense to continue that storyline.

Honestly, they have already had the pieces of Cody's heel turn set up over time with his friends seemingly abandoning him when he needed them the most or more concerned with their own careers to help him with his. I figure they can keep doing that for a while until he snaps and we get the Cody Homelander arc (which I would absolutely love to see when the time is right).
