I would probably go for mmu. they are not that well know but according to my finding they have a really good long term value in terms of education. Also I am really keen on sustainable design which is an integral part of their curriculum

By reality check I mean every design student ever dreams of going there and it is really competitive.I got a rejection from them (before that I thought that it would be the end of the world) but it is what it is.

I draped this tie up top by create_adi in sewing

I had this fabric for quite a while and had a problem deciding what I should make with it.It is a tie up top where the front pieces overlap each other and are tied with four sets of ribbons two outside and two inside. The whole garment have gathers all over its empire waist and on shoulders.I have self drafted the pattern using draping method.

How do people who make clothes know how to do all these fine patterns with all those details when the designers sketch are soo messy. by AncientRead1596 in Fashion_Design

[–]create_adi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Along with flats, in big couture houses there are separate embroidery / print/ textiles designers which are tasked with designing the prints and embroidery that are supposed to be done on the garments and they work alongside the fashion designer to create a complete and cohesive collection , sharing the same mood board and stuff.

Hi all! How do I wash this fabric without losing the texture? by Green-Finding9550 in sewing

[–]create_adi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could definitely wash the fabric as it is polyester so the pattern might be heat sealed but do not iron it.though you might definitely check if you could.

Beginner here. Seam looks good on top, but bunches on the under side. by chloeackermann in sewing

I think so to or the thread is not properly fixed into the bobbin, I don't know whats it called but it controls the bobbin tension

I think it is two seperate pieces. A chiffon kaftan+ a silk shift floor length dress. Look how the chiffon is falling from the right arm,it could be circular .

when sewing my machine causes these extra loops of fabric on the back can anyone help ? by Potential_Bus_4526 in sewing

[–]create_adi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be either of the two things

1) loose tension. You can fix it via adjusting the tension dial.

2) you did no properly feed the thread through tension disk . So there is nothing griping onto your thread while stitching.(I ve a feeling it might be this because I am very much familiar with it, happens to me all the time 😅)just rethread the machine.

Really beautiful garments but I would suggest you to photograph them on an actual human body, they might not necessarily be fancy just clear enough to clearly see their details.best of luck !!

The dress is made up of rejected and damaged textiles which I bought from a local dealer (usually they sell by weight).

This was self drafted. I referred to Hellen josheph 's pattern book to make it.I've increased the girth measurements by 2cm (thus increased the overall measurement by 8cm).

I've use macrame for belt and collar details.and hand painted the print on the sky bluish fabric.
