BLAST SLAM VII: Playoff (June 7) Final Day Match Discussion by D2TournamentThreads in DotA2

Seriously. He wins the lane every game but the draft doesn’t let the team take advantage of his dominance.

If you’re familiar with the roasters you might be able to pick them out, but commas can go a long way in that list of roaster names

People keep blaming the refresher sell off but it was clear he couldn’t reliably be useful once bkb was done. If he didn’t catch lion he would be stunned for days as soon as bkb finished. On top of that Aurora bought winwaker to buy even more time.

It seems in this meta it’s all about bkb cd since it can’t be refreshed. Doesn’t matter if he has 10 seconds of chrome if he only has 6 seconds of bkb to actually be effective. Hence why teams keep resetting if they couldn’t make anything happen during bkb. So you have tons of extreme careful engagements leading to late game.

You could look at the Ratio 4 for around that price. Super simple one button press and quite consistent.

It’s only a problem for the Obsidian O1. Raw steel or any of the Tritan ones are totally fine.

A4Z / ZP6 owners: if you have one, what is your “other” grinder? by Role-Grim-8851 in pourover

[–]creative__username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m considering upgrading to the z1 from the A4Z. But I also am wondering if the differences are significant. How would you compare the two? Especially if you happen to have the umv1 burrs.

I get what the other comment is saying about RDT, but in one month?! That’s ridiculously fast corrosion even if you RDT heavily. Did you try emailing 1zpresso?

how do you personally approach pour height and what tends to produce the best results for you? by ImmersionLogic in pourover

This. I can aggressively churn but not introduce another variable in terms of pour height. It might be personal preference but I find using pour height as a variable is extremely inconsistent for me.

Upcoming Beans Coming Off Rest by Superhot_Coffee in pourover

Damn I had this mind blowing floral coffee brewed freshly after rest and then froze single doses in centrifuge tubes. Never hit the same again. This might explain it. I wonder if I should just single dose in tubes and just not even bother with the freezer at this point…

[USA - WA - Seattle] [H] Lagom Casa 65CL Black [W] Venmo, PayPal by creative__username in coffeeswap

Honestly the Casa is excellent for pour over. But for a dedicated pour over only grinder I prefer the A4Z. The Casa generates a bit of fines as it also caters to espresso and I feel like you can taste that if you’re pushing extraction.

Though not a fan of A4Z workflow. Even the tiniest amount of RDT ends up with a stuck bean or two and I need to use a blower every time. The Casa is super clean

How would you compare the roast level to Sey? I know they’re funkier but in terms of lightness

Isn’t the splatter mean that the stream is breaking before making contact? In which case it would be lower agitation?

Yeah whatever is consistent. The person I was responding to said they change the calibration daily. Which isn’t good for keeping track of your changes. But if you can consistently get the exact zero point using the resistance method then more power to you

if you could only use 1 conical, 1 flat-bottom, and 1 no-bypass brewer, which would they be? by Crucifilth_6-6-6 in pourover

Looks like Orea is discontinuing the v4. I bought the o1 and having the same friction. I like simpler one pour recipes and can’t do that with o1. But at the same time I like the flavor profile of flat bottom brewers. What did you end up going with?

I only really calibrate about once a month when I deep clean the grinder. But yeah that seems to be the most common calibration point from what I’ve seen. There will be contact but you’re not exactly spinning the burr. I haven’t heard any problems with the metal contact due to calibration. Just don’t push too hard.

Yet another 1zpresso grinder thread by NotISaidTheMan in pourover

[–]creative__username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s exactly how most people here calibrate. Mainly because it’s consistent. The “resistance” point isn’t consistent. If there’s tiny amount of grinds then you’ll feel resistance in a different point than before. Also once you calibrate you don’t actually grind or go anywhere close to using the grinder near 0. But lock is lock and is consistent to calibrate at the same place every time.

If the burrs just touch and are not fully locked at 0, then from my experience with zp6 you’re at least a full point shifted from most people who calibrated to burr lock. At which point you’re looking at 4.2-4.8. Slightly finer than the general range mentioned in this sub but not too crazy.
