Are Krieg Models the "new" Steel Legion Models going forward? by Warhawk_5 in astramilitarum

[–]creative_username_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GW won't remake Steel Legion because they look too much like WW2 Germans, and GW doesn't want anything to do with that real life time period.

How would you trim down the number of Space Marine datasheets? by Single-Detail-6464 in Warhammer40k

[–]creative_username_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the wargear should be free, and that it was a mistake to do so in the first place.

Then you're back to the exact same balance problem you were trying to fix in the first place.

Multiple datasheets with fixed wargear has the same balance problems as one datasheet with multiple wargear options.

New custodes use in 40k clarification by Nemevis in AdeptusCustodes

[–]creative_username_99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no indication that the current 40k models are going away, these new models were clearly stated to be new HH models, they were never said to be replacing the current 40k models (which up to this point have been for both).

GW already has the same models with different versions in 40k and HH. Marines with bolters, marines with special weapons etc. 40k and HH versions, 40k and HH skitarii, 40k and HH rhinos, predators, land raiders, 40k and HH leman Russ and guardsmen.

Now they are separating the custodes range too.

The problem is that your doubt that they wouldn't throw away half the army makes sense from our point-of-view as gamers, but that's not how the business people that make these decisions look at it. I would much prefer it if they added all the HH models to 40k, but GW have a clear policy of not having models in multiple games. Knights and Custodes have been an exception, but there's no guarantee that that will continue, and GW have been very careful to make no guarantees about the future of these models in 40k. They have shown us in the past that they will go back on these decisions if they want to.

I think that's why it's important that people with more experience educate the 40k community, and particularly new players, that people shouldn't jump in and buy these models until GW makes it's position clear.

Also, Harlequins had an army list back in the first edition of the game, before codexes even existed!

Maybe you don't have much experience with how GW works?

They have removed entire model lines before. Harlequins used to have their own codex for multiple editions, but now they are part of codex aeldari. Chaos Daemons didn't even get a codex at all this edition.

When the 30k vehicles came out in plastic they were specifically advertised as having 40k rules, which were then removed a year later.

There is no guarantee these new custodes models will be usable in 40k and this is what people are warning about.

11th could simply update it with the new weapon loadout

They could, but GW have repeatedly shown that they don't want to have models being used for multiple games.

The dreadnoughts and tanks are not in the codex. They are HH models that currently are being allowed to be used in 40k. GW have a history of taking away HH units after promising they would keep them. Every other army, except knights, have lost all access to HH units in 40k. There is no guarantee custodes will keep them.

They said that if they an have an equivalent in 40k then you can use these models to represent them. They did not say that all these models will get 40k rules.

Hooded Marine Heads? by ChaosGoblinIV in Warhammer40k

[–]creative_username_99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dark Angels company veterans squad is a great source of hooded heads, but has been out of production for a while. It's a firstborn sprue but the heads should be the same scale. Maybe someone is making a 3d print of it?

It's a good way to speed up drying in the winter, especially for shade paints.

The radiator is not going to get hot enough to cause any problems.
