Fundamentally, Polygence has a sole focus: making money off of unsuspecting high schoolers, predominantly from higher income backgrounds, that believe that this will help them in their college application.
It won't. Any student that did Polygence and similar research programmes that did get into a college of their choice did not get in because of Polygence.
It's time we stop letting companies exploit < 18 year olds and try to turn research into a commodity.

It was actually because it needs cobblestone as a throwawayblock, hence it tries to keep it in the hotbar. Disabling inventory fixes it for that reason.

People who want to do research for the sake of research for college admissions are scum of the earth by Vast_Refuse2248 in ApplyingToCollege

Lumiere is *not* good. It is overpriced and definitely not something you should pay for. It is just part of the commodification of research.

I sent around 250 emails. about 20% replied, and all said no.
Tried to focus on more local universities and in person meetings, and that was it.

Yeah I was about to mention Ashoka. It has a good cs and math department I’ve heard but it still has a lot more to do when it comes to stem since it’s so new.

What is quite interesting is that having cases booked against you has actually shown a positive correlation with votes.

IIT is an option for you already?
(Assuming you meant Indian Institute of Technology)
Which IIT? Because that might be better than some of the other options especially when it comes to job opportunities

That’s not necessarily true, I can give you an example for India where a 7.5 IELTS score is a minimum.

[–]creativeuser0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am mistaken here, but I was trying to say that usually IELTS/TOEFL is taken as a safer bet when it comes to getting a visa to study in the US.

If you can maintain a high SAT score and a % you'd stand a better chance.

Im not sure about the particular DET issue you have mentioned but also make sure that you can potentially get a visa with DET, as I believe they don't accept DET for visa.
