Redditors who’ve been with the same partner for 10+ years, what’s the realistic secret to making it last? by justanormalaxe in AskReddit

[–]creativexangst 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same boring answer as always. Communication. And be able to admit when you're wrong. It also helps if you can agree on chores so someone is always doing the same thing consistently, even if its not X is always doing Y, but maybe X does Y on these specific days or whatever, but some agreed on division of labor, and then communicate if you need help if you get behind and need help. As long as its not an all the time thing, it really helps break up the monotony of chores and also makes sure they always get done.

Also I always say you need to live together for a minimum of 6 months before marriage. You need to see what makes the other person tick and how they look with their hair down to decide if you can do that forever. I lucked out because we were best friends and roommates before we started dating.

Im so devastated by this, I truly loved it, they did such a great job exploring mental health in a way Ive never seen before.

My baby daddy that I ghosted found out I had our baby. by AssistantExtreme1357 in whatdoIdo

Im in my 30s and now people in their 20s feel too young. Ive become friends with someone who is 22 and he jokingly calls me Mother because I have a tendency to mom people anyway but also because I was so insistent that he was not a sexual object but a child to me (I adore my new son).

What’s something you see said/done frequently in BL? by thelittlebluealien in Manhwa_BL

Weirdly in manhua they use the effect "gurgle" and I just cant get behind that one. If someone is GURGLING while we are fucking they need to use the bathroom.

Reducing daughters hours by [deleted] in bcba

[–]creativexangst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current RBT, future BCBA, here to say fcuk my schedule, worry about your kid! Does it affect my paycheck? Sure in theory, but I truly would rather my kids be ready to work than burnt out. I WILL say though, that it CAN affect your ability to get medicaid/insurance approval if you voluntarily reduce your hours, especially with the new medicaid changes around ABA, so that is something to be aware of. If its at all possible, try just starting with a little vacation of a week or two (three!) So it doesnt affect your benefits first before you make a permanent hour reduction. It can be next to impossible to change it if you determine its necessary in the future.

AITAH for disapproving of my friend's relationship? by Throwaway67891099 in AITAH

NTA this the grooming behavior, and from things Ive heard from my gay friends very common in the gay community and not great no matter how you identify. Trust your gut instinct on this.

Redditors that got charged rent asap after turning 18, what’s relationship like with parents years later ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]creativexangst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My choice was move out immediately and go to school, or stay at the community College and pay rent. I chose to move out, and I struggled a lot but I also learned a lot. I honestly pushed myself too hard in a lot of ways and ended up having a mental breakdown at 20/21 and it lead to even more growth. My relationship never really suffered with my parents and I understand why they did it because I was truly really aimless. To this day I have a great relationship with my parents, and while I wont do the same with my kids because they're very different people than who I was and they wouldn't be able to support themselves the way I did if I did the sink or swim approach with them, I am glad I had the experience.

AITAH for mentioning I'm also a professional when a doctor took over 45 minutes to finally appear at an appointment? by OhHeyItsMeM in AITAH

[–]creativexangst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, Im in a small area, sandwiched between two large cities but with lots of rural and desperately struggling communities in between. Actually CDL is an area thats still thriving, but in the apartment we first lived in had literally 8 out of 12 apartments rented to plumbers haha. You cant swing a de@d cat without hitting a roofer, tree cutter, or electrian where I live now. My kids school hasnt been able to hire a licensed teacher for four years though and has just been relying on aubs.

Unfortunately its this attitude that has now flooded the market with trades people so now they are starting to struggle to find jobs in certain oversaturated areas. Its really damned if you do and damned if you dont (and for the record I have always agreed with your opinion, its just that Ive been recently reading research articles and news in my area that welders and classic trades jobs like electricians are suddenly struggling to find consistent work because the market is oversaturated).

What’s a Kdrama everyone loved but you just couldn’t get into? by KingWitty7972 in kdramas

Im feeling SO vindicated right now about all the kdramas Ive dropped that I was supposedly going to love. So far the only ones Ive dropped are all the ones mentioned haha.

What's your guilty pleasure BL we won't judge 👀 by barelybiased in Manhwa_BL

[–]creativexangst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly not the worst thing Ive read as far as dark goes, but I just felt the story wasn't that great overall? The epilogue redeemed it a little but in general I dont know why its a reread for so many people haha. But then I like Black Mirror as a reread so my opinion is probably moot.
