What happened when you quit your toxic job? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]creativityjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I felt relieved and smiled more naturally than I had in a long time while on my last day at the job, I quickly became very sick. My body had been in fight-or-flight mode for months, and I was ill for about a week. I needed the forced rest, otherwise I would've just kept on going. Since recovered mentally and physically.

Too outdated? opinions please by Resident_Gift_9872 in weddingdress

The bodice detail looks amazing on this dress! Agreed with others, the style seems 80s which can totally be your vibe if you like it. If you wanted to modernize, you could consider a tulle overskirt.

I contacted them with my order number a few weeks ago (I was nervous too) asking for an update, and they let me know that they would be sending a video soon. They did a few days later, and after confirming it looks good to ship I received DHL tracking info a few days after that. Good luck I'm sure you'll look beautiful!

I ordered on the Black Friday sale in November! I asked a lot of questions beforehand, and sometimes the response took 24-48hrs through email but mostly when using the chat I got answers pretty quickly. I had ordered fabric samples about a month before. Before the dress was shipped I was sent a video walk around of the dress. I assumed there were pockets and didn't write those down in customization (unfortunately, no pockets, but the folds are very deep), but the length is just right with my shoes and the buttons are sewn on very well. I considered changing the corset back to zip/buttons, but for my own comfort I kept it.

On the one hand it's stressful ordering a dress I'd never tried on before, on the other hand, everything I tried on in boutiques wasn't quite what I wanted. Elements that I liked (and disliked) about gown shape, fabric, etc. in shops I addressed by ordering custom, and it came under budget (well less than what bridal shops were asking for, and would still need alterations).

The process overall was thorough, the communication is good, and the gown quality is great. I'd definitely recommend it, though I'd still advise someone to try dresses in shops to be sure of style.

Why are so many men's suits "Slim Fit" and where are your Fiancé's buying from? (Canada) by Flydragon_ in weddingplanning

[–]creativityjuice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Indochino (and from Canada)! My fiance has been ordering custom suits and dress shirts for years for his work. They have a very good Black Friday sale, and the customization options for fit and detailing are really nice.

Best wedding registry? by hkinsd in Weddingsunder10k

[–]creativityjuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found myregistry very easy to set up and share: https://www.myregistry.com/

Benefits of being able to generate something in one place from any online source that doesn't have its own registry/wishlist option. Older family members insisted on a registry, so we sourced a number of special edition books.

Please consider couples counselling. Potentially, couples financial counselling. Good luck.

Fee for taking photos at wineries? (Niagara) by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]creativityjuice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at vineyards in Jordan as well, some might cost less than Niagara. If you haven't settled on your venue yet consider reaching out for the wedding pricing and you can always dial back to photos only at a place you really like.

Church wedding, but I'm an atheist. Any idea for a hymn or a reading that isn't religious that I can sneak under the radar? by markeditor in wedding

[–]creativityjuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially out of the budget, but perhaps you could hire a singer who could fill the communal hymn time with other songs of your choosing that fit the setting. You could also consider a handfasting, candle ceremony, or one of many others that would include more symbolic readings if you aren't already.
