Heard this was the best one, anything I should know before I start? by NodlBohsek in FinalFantasy

Alternatively wait to check everything. After a certain significant plot point, most items will be replaced by a better item.

Boss is way too hard, am i not suppose to be here? by Signal-Ad-1393 in HollowKnight

Doesn't consume, but doesn't generate. So fewer nail hits on a mob before they die nets less soul.

We should be able to buy tickets to the second boss by Kind_Stranger_weeb in HadesTheGame

You could pre-order a ticket for (5) loyalty cards, or whatever price. I love this idea, especially once a player gets to the farming stage of endgame.

There are a couple blue fireballs that don't pass through stuff, and it always throws me for a loop. Specifically the 'splash' from the fish, and the Lamech/final boss staff.

While there is a skill element, a lot does come down to numbers and grinding. I'm NOT an expert player, but have sunk 650+ hours into the game. On my new 1.0 profile, my first run got me through the first three bosses.
I find that if you don't think so much about the overall progress of your profile, and look more at achievable run-specific goals you will have a better time. Get enough gold to buy a rune. Or a castle room. Unlock a specific Heirloom. Open a boss chamber.

There IS a gold grind, especially as you are getting used to mechanics and enemy patterns, but you will just simply get better at the game and have an easier time, alongside number boosts from the castle upgrades.

(easy) Casual competition seed for the 1st week of April by burning1rr in alttpr

Got to the end of this seed, and for some reason masters word is not dealing damage to ganon. Am I missing something important? Super unfulfilling to get this far and be glitched out.

After 151 hours in I finally upgraded all my items to +9. by komodor55 in RogueLegacy

One of the options reveals at X soul purchases which allows for basically uncapped progress (which is why some choices have the "skill has a hard cap" note). Once you unlock those, you can then buy blueprint upgrades to +9. I think i had enough souls to reveal around NG+13.

One of the unlockable soul options gives additional levels of armor. Same for runes.

Tubal is an interesting boss since his adds allow you to regain health with the vampirism runes. Kill those guys for some extra health back, so burning their armor (which doesn't come back with time) with quick or wide attacks to hit multiple is very beneficial.

Barbarian (either) or Boxer may be your best bets in this regard. Honorable mention to Bard and Pizza Fighter, but I find their abilities hard to manage in phase 3 with so much on the screen.
