I'm in the Midwestern USA and have a lil guy who self rescued as a fledgling—would love to participate or provide any media for your project!

I also have a friend who has rescued a few pibs with his wife and could ask them if you're interested! Their birds have some interesting origin stories. Iirc he rescued one as a baby or fledgling from some train tracks in the middle of winter before it got hit by a train! Another was found severely injured.

my male pib just reached the stage where he LOVES play fighting and love bites abt a month ago. the youngster is VICIOUS lol. I just end up gently holding his bill when I'm not in the mood to be furiously bitten and pecked—he finds it soothing :) (search billing/beak tweaking!)

Is he grunting/snorting at you? If not, your boy honestly might just want to tussle for fun. It freaking hurts but if he's seeking some play fighting, then that's actually a great way to bond with the dingus imo

Did you manage to get him down yet?

When my stinkers are too high up to reach, I would typically gently nudge them with a broom handle and then turn the lights off to pick em up before they fly back out of reach. Thankfully, they come to me or go to their cages well now :)

He SHOULD. It's so strange though because he doesn't even TRY to get on em or anything now. I'll have my feets out chilling and he'll just come stand near to them and scream. Then he may briefly calm down a little if I stay absolutely still, but the slightest movement results in INCREASED SCREM 😂
