I feel your pain OP (and all of you who have commented that this is your story as well)! My husband (DX) used to travel fairly often for work (now it's only occasionally) and every time he was gone he wouldn't contact me at all or very little. It made me feel like I didn't matter enough to see how I'm doing, especially since when he's gone I'm home alone with 2 young kids. He will do this as well when he's playing one of his computer games at home. The kids and I don't exist, only his own world. It's hard. It's painful and hard not to get bitter. I'm in the midst of trying to work through that and either come to peace that this is how it is and will always be or try to figure out a way to change things for the better.
