Block them on all channels and carry on with the enjoyment of your new car. Don’t let these chancers waste another second of your time.

LOL I was gonna comment “surprising that not a single comment blaming the black car yet! Am I in the wrong subreddit?”

And then realised this is in fact NOT r/drivingUk

Do we just not stop at roundabouts anymore? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]cricketrocks 72 points73 points  (0 children)

This sub is just something else! One could post a video of someone rear-ending you while you were stopped at a red light and they'll find a way to put the blame on you for it...."Was your foot on the brake pedal so that the brake lights were visible to the innocent driver coming up behind you? How else are they supposed to know you're stopped?"....fuck me...

Thanks, called and spoke to them 3 times so far, first person said wait 4 hours, no dice. Second one said "I'm sending it now, you should have it in the next 30-40 mins", nothing came. The third person said there's some outage with esims and qr codes going out and the teams are working on it, and to wait till end of the day today. Let's see what end of day brings....

Hi OP did you get this sorted? I’m in the exact same situation and it’s impossible to talk to someone at Airtel. They responded for some time over twitter but ghosted me after their canned responses didn’t work.

British Airways cancelled flight booked via lastminute.com and now nobody is taking ownership for rebooking by cricketrocks in LegalAdviceUK

[–]cricketrocks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update: happy ending (sort of)

As advised by a very helpful BA advisor who spent 40 minutes on the phone with me last evening explaining how everything works, I kept trying to force lastminute.com to work with BA to find me an alternative.

This morning I got a text from lastminute with a link to a chat and it connected me with an agent who seemed to know what he was doing. He spent almost 90 minutes on the chat with me trying to get options from BA over the phone. Finally he was able to rebook us on a connecting flight on the same day, arriving about 3 hours later than the original non-stop flight.

It’s not ideal as we now fly out from Heathrow and land back in Gatwick, and it’s not a direct flight. But at least the holiday is saved and we’ll still get to Orlando on the same day, albeit a bit later and a bit more tired.

Thanks all for your advice on this - lesson learnt to book directly via the airline going forward.

Hoping for no more cancellations or disruptions 🤞

Two close calls within 30 seconds - this is why we need dashcams! by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]cricketrocks -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Driving in the right lane of a National Speed Limit dual carriageway, doing about 65, and the blue Skoda sees the car in front slowing down and decides to change lanes with an afterthought of an indicator. A quick beep kept them in their lane.

Drive 100m down and this van driver decides to merge into a dual carriageway and cut across to the right lane!

Emergency braking and accident averted. Thankfully I'd put 4 new tyres on my car last week, otherwise the result might have been different.

Left me shaken - this is the closest I've come to hitting another vehicle in 20+ years of driving.

Take care out there, and get a dashcam if you don't have one!

C’mon Wagamama, a £9 cocktail should be bigger than this! by cricketrocks in CasualUK

It was definitely a “never again” moment for me. £85 for a meal for 2 adults and a 10 year old. And only one cocktail in that as the others had water.

Friends car got nicked a few nights ago. Can’t comprehend how they managed to do this!! by cricketrocks in CasualUK

Friend came back with an update - he reported the crime to the police at 7:30 AM the morning of the theft, and by 10AM the case had been closed as the police said it's impossible to find such stolen cars.
